You will crave the resonating THUNK of tools in good ice, you will have a strange urge to see men climbing condo walls wearing Hawaian shirts. You will be unexplicably, and profoundly, attracted to bald heads, handle bar mustaches, patagonia fleece, firemen, filthy jokes, and beer belching.....

fleece...got it, fireman...got it, filthy jokes (some Marine ones, too -- for Geo)....can do, cigars...no problemo. somebody bring me up to speed on the Hawaiian shirt thing.

r.r.

You'll have to dig WAY back in this thread...but the people I'm staying with are having a hawaiian lua. Aloha shirts are mandatory- pants are optional!!

okay, my attention has been officially recaptured. maybe i'll stop by for the lua, haha. flamer, good buddy - extra beer for you if you can hook the little sister up with an ultra-hot ice-climbing fireguy. (medium hot will work, but ultra hot is definitely preferred.)

now the question is, who is going to the condo, and who isnt. Whats the current roll call list of participants for the festival? Skibbs, can you help us out here?

Mmmmm-kay. Here's a check for supplies, since I'm not certain what the condo will provide, other than beds, heat, and towels.

I'm bringing a coffee grinder, TWO POUNDS of coffee (thanks to just_me!) and a CD player.

Anyone care to bring a DVD player, in case we're home long enough to actually watch a movie or pretend to care about Paris Hilton's sex video!

Pretend????? Hell, I thought we were planning a full blown( ;)) re-enactment and an after party too. whats the head count so we know where who will sleep and who will not sleep?

Hey Geo,
What you plan on doing the morning of the 15th?
Pancakes and single malt sound like a good post ice climb brunch. YOu make the cakes ill bring the Single malt, maybe a really good one to match the event in Ouray.

I now am $40 poorer and own a bottle of Patron Anejo and a bottle of Herradura Anejo.

Nate, dooooood: I've got space in my Jeep. Bring the Patron, and I'll cover the cost of gas. :D

Well, it looks like I have a ride, and I can scrounge up some money.
Is there any room in the condo still?

Also, will an ice climbing virgin like myself be able to find people to climb with (and easy places to climb)? Or will everybody be too drunk/hungover to actually climb? :P

by the way ... 25 below yesterday; 27 below today; and i'm headed out once again at 0200 for a climb in expected lows of 25-35 below zero.

Skibby: Do you HONESTLY think you'll need both hands? Just a guess, but I'd bet one hand would suffice. Heck, you'd probably have enough room to hold a mug of coffee as well.

None of you are going to get that but Geo.

Now wait just one gol' durn cotton picking second here...

The line for the Sheep-Dog thing begins with Geo. The line for Mistress Skibby, Domina Estrogena, starts with Geo. And now he's got an exclusive with tracyroach?

What are the rest of us manly men to do??

Sandbag, we're gonna need more beer. LOTS more beer.

Lots.

P.S. Geo, what's your secret? Is it the bald head? Is it the moustache? Is it your burly physique? Something else? Inquiring minds want to know.

Ron,
Ill be trundling up to Ouray after i get out of work weds night, and prolly sleeping in the back of the 4 runner, ill have to figure that out, i cant let the beer freeze, so it should be interesting. Ill be ready to go that am, ill see if i cant recon the condo and get the keys to go in and make sure its all up to snuff for when Mistress Domina Estrogena arrives. ;)

Reno,
Ill have 2@ 5 gallon kegs, i may be able to get one more batch fired up if i get a second fermenter and get moving. the only caveat is the bev kegs are hard to come by so ill see what i can do to accopmodate the more beer, lots of beer. Were talking finely crafted works of art, Ask trad_kelly.
Next time ill have a mead, for lets say the summer event or the fall.
What else do we need for the lasagna magnifica?
Geo,
read above. Ill be in town early am, but looks like youre tied up till later. Ill probably bomb over to the ice park and see whats up. I may actually drive up there this weekend to get the scoput recon of our AOO for operation Dry tool. If youre avail to do any climbing, ill try to follow along, otherwise may just take it easy and slog around in the snow shoes.

Hey everyone, is the skiing idea still a go for Monday? Anyone want to make turns? If so is there anyone I can throw some gas money at to get me back to Denver by late that evening? Or am I pushing the time limits a little bit there?

Let me know. Thanks -Sean

Elvislegs,

I am probably driving to Ouray on Friday after work, and returning Monday evening. PM me, and we can work out the details. Anyone else want to carpool on those dates?
