juliana, I know what you mean bout losing a post, I hate it when that happens but I has kept me from posting things that I would have regretted. I dont like to get into thses flame wars because I would be the one going down in flames. I was talking to a guy at REI the other day who just became a member here, I wont mention his s/n, but hes afraid to post anything here because he doesnt want to be flamed for anything he says, hes a new climber. So from now on I'm going to try to be a new kinder, gentler fo_d. After all this is only the internet, why get so worked up, you can shut it off anytime you want.
we gotta try not to scare new users, even if a new user comes on and flames an old user, we can still be nice cant we?

I guess I'll add some history.
I started "rock climbing" in January 2001. I used quotation marks because I started in a gym. Chicago isn't known for its breathtaking crags.
I was hooked on the sport, and I took a trip to this here website.
Did this and that here, and got voted by my peers to be an admin. At least at one point I had friends around here.
While admin I got involved that lame PTPP debaucle (sp) and wasted countless hours on the computer.
Aside from my involvement in the biggest scandal to rock (nice pun, eh) rocklimbing.com years, I worked on redoing the new topic and reply pages to make all you less than computer code savvy people some nifty clicker buttons. I also took the time to find a nice new home for chat, which has been my most prized accomplishment. I also spent $15 on software for those good ol' chat stats you all have grown to love (there is my monitary donation to the site ).
My php skills weren't all that great, and I wasn't quite the kind of guy to sit back and let a fight slide by, so I had to be removed from adminship. I guess confrontation is a no-no around here if you want to hold a place of power.
Somewhere in there before adminship I was the manager for Wisconsin, and did a fair bit of work adding stuff. Organizing the state all nice like. Did a bit with Illinois as well.
Let's see, what else is there to know about me? I kind of started off on my actual life of climbing, but ended up talking about my history here, which I suppose is what this whole thread is about.
I wrote some articles on the biology of climbing, which the series just ended because I got bored with it...sorry for those who wanted more. I can get sidetracked easily.
I dunno how much else I can say. I kind of enjoy this here site. Gives me something to do with my free time.
If anyone else has more history of me they want to add, feel free. My life here is an open book.
