Buildings? Walls? Lets hear about the funky stuff you've climbed. I tell you what, those brick walls with grout nearly to the surface are dad-gummed impossible!!!

Climbed up about 35 feet on a brick wall at some church! the brick had plenty of good edges and crimps so it wasn't that bad. Downclimbing wasn't even as hard as I thought either!

I'd have to say my route I set up yesterday. Out my window, just over halfway round the house, and back. Soon I hope to try the under-the-back-porch variation.

First Ascent on a 90' 22" wide chimney at the University of Nebraska. Protected with 8 2"x4"s. Didn't get arrested by the Nazi Police State - Campus Security Officers because I am so awesome. That is the only building I have officially climbed.

TRADitionally yours,

A 40 foot tall crack on a Parking Garage. We used ropes and gear and did it at night. We used to builder at night on campus, but the parking garage is the craziest thing I ever climbed. The only time I used a rope.

I work inspecting Nuclear Power Plants, and was dressed like Homer Simpson with the yellow "anti-c's", and was climbing upside down on the bottom of some scaffolding in what I thought was a secluded area of containmant, but I was caught by a sneakey video camera. The guy watching was a friend, thank God, and he called me on my radio and said I shouldn't do that.

In line at Universal Studios in Orlando Fl. My brother and I got bored waiting in line for some ride that looked like a castle so we just started bouldering. The folks around us thought it was a joke and my girlfriend made me stop climbing (See Upfreak on the first page) but that didn't stop my brother. It may not be crazy, but it was a ton of fun and it made time fly.

I was at a bar with some climbing friends, and we came up with this rather difficult boulder problem that involved a bar stool and a pool table. We set the bar stool next to the table, and you had to sit in the stool, then somehow get from the stool to the underside of the pool table, and then "top out" on the top of the pool table.

It was difficult to get from the top of the stool to the underside of the table without tipping the chair over.

I got mega style points because I found a knee bar underneath the pool table.

I've done the fake rocks at Disney World also. But they put a slippery finish on them to preserve them. And me with no chalk...

I free soloed to the top of the local bank's flagpole one night, and then used the zip line (halyard) to bring up an old tire that I was barely able to force onto the spherical finial at the top. Then I did the second pole. The tires stayed up there for almost a month, and they couldn't fly the flags. A fire truck was finally required to move them.

A few years later I was arrested for using climbing equipment to A1 out onto a hanging sculpture, with the intent of rearranging the pieces so it no longer resembled an artsy-fartsy fish, but just a bunch of hanging rusted junk. Did forty hours community service and year of probation.

I still climb local building offwidths, because there are no wide cracks on the fine crags here. There is a 30', 6.5" wide smooth slot between two buildings that is easily 5.11, maybe harder. I learned to foot-stack in that crack. Another building gap is a 40 foot long, smooth 11" squeeze that suddenly closes down to 9" hell offwidth ten feet off the ground, and has yet to see an ascent. It looks like 5.12. I call it the Mullah Crack.

Here is a list of suitable crack climbs in my area:

http://home.pacbell.net/takasper/slocracks.html

I like Addiroids' chimney gig, with the 2x4 pro. Yee-Haw! Just the sort of trouble I like.

Me and my friend climbed his dorm when he went to the university of washington. Ten stories with a sweet three foot horizontal roof at the top that you could get a nice hold on before cutting your feet loose . The end of each hallway in the building ended with a huge glass window. I stopped in front of one where two people were talking. You should have seen the look on their faces when they realized there was someone dressed all in black hanging outside the 8th story of their dorm.
