Attn Vegas area:
I have found some new sport routes by Lake Mead.
They are on the back of a rock formation by Boulder Beach and appear to be a combo of lead and TR's.
I have climbed a few, the rock is a little loose but interesting.
There is also a project that looks about 5-11 ish with 1 bolt below the chains.
Additionally, there is a small cave for the boulderin types.
Looks to be about 8 routes total!
Climb hard and have fun.

Lake Mead, eh? I'm sure that with all the low water levels exposing all those rock faces, we'll all get desperate at some point and attempt something there.

Another note to clarify for all:
The routes mentioned here are on the opposite side of the road from the lake. Been many years since water was there if at all. Enjoy!
And, most of the newly exposed rock looks pretty crappy, I've already been out in a boat looking at it...*ha* :robert:

I've done these routes. The rock is... not too good. Certainly not by Vegas standards. The 'boulders' (~50 Ft tall) are obvious across the road from Boulder Beach.

The routes are on the back side and from left to right are:

1. Unknown- 1bolt and anchor (unfinished)

2. Unknown2- 5.10a/b OK face climbing..but the top is a bit chossy. (5ish bolts a bit run to the anchors on top) Best route here...but that's not saying much.

(random really low bolt)

3. Gila Monsters 5.6 or easier (4 Bolts to Ring and Shut Anchor) this route is the one in the 'gully'

4. Unknown- 5.7 (10 feet right of 'gully') (4ish bolts to anchor)- Piece o' Choss!!

I spent some time checking out the rest of the area. The rock is not too inspiring and the angle is seldom conistent (ledges). The wall a 1/4 mile or so mile past the boulders could support a few spreadout routes (note: it is illegal to drive past the 'boulders')
