No, not aiding in gyms. Aiding in houses, apartments, schools, etc.

While playing around with a little hammer and a nickel I had put an edge on, it struck me that door, windows and other various indoors features could be aided.

Has anyone else thought of this/done this. I do thoroughly enjoy the free climbing possibilities, but why not indoor aid too?

Haa ha, Good one.

Yeah about 6 year ago, I was living in this 2 story house. I had aid routes going everywhere.

My favorite was this huge beam that had knots all over it. I would hammer in rurps and knife blades. Of course, I didn't use a rope....that was the fun of it.

One drawback, it really destroys the house.

Cheers, Ammon

a mate of mine ahad a nice huge crack runing up the outside of his brick housethe only problem was you needed about 6 black aleins for pro, the rest was seem hooking and sky hook moves on the bricks. Form what i belive the crack was a structural thingy to prevent cracking or something so i t was perefectly parallel

There's this big wall at the back of my house, which i have used for bouldering for years. I used to aid it loads, when i first started aid climbing - best not to use a rope as it gets your head in shape for trusting the dodgy stuff. Try not to fall though, as every mistake ends in a groundfall and even though that may only be a few feet it f*****g hurts as you're not expecting it!! (very much tried and tested...)

One very positive side of this, is that i've got some great pin scar boulder problems...! Perfect for London Wall.

Tilt up structures work well for this, the joints between panels give you a perfectly uniform crack.Building owners will be upset if you use pins though

I would love to traverce the trusses in a large building or stadium. Use hooks and slings. Set up hanging belays. Hook about 15 moves, then take pictures of your second as they hook or fly.

Damn.
You guys scare me. I'll have to try it sometime, though- buildering taken to the extreme.
