All, My regular climbing and training partner has just take a job in Indiana. Hence, I need some new blood and inspiration to set problems on my home wall. http://www.rockclimbing.com/...tPhoto&PhotoID=35735 I have an extensive bouldering cave featuring a 45 degree wall, a 25 degree wall, a just off vertical wall and a roof in my basement. The wall was recently featured in a Chicago Tribune article. The article was about how people modify their homes for their passions. If there are any locals out there interested in training for the Red and So. IL. let me know. I will be happy to have you play on the wall. PLJ

Dear Wot and Ladsquared, I live at 936 Cedar Street, Deerfield. Basically, just off Deerfield Rd and I-294. Directions from Deerfield Rd: Take Wilmot Rd going North. Take first right (Hazel). Turn right after first Stop sign (Cedar). 936 is the 3rd house on the right.

I know exactly where that is. I would love to come over and check out your wall. It sure is a lot closer than going out to VE in warrenville.

3 interested people (including PMs) seems to be a small response for a city the size of Chicago. There must be other motivated climbers within easy driving distance of Deerfield. The wall is located just off the I-294. Would I generate more interest if I posted a picture of the wall? PLJ

Hi. I've moved from Hyde Park to Lincoln Square, in NW Chicago, and I had to leave my home climbing wall behind. As a result, I haven't climbed in a while, but I'm addicted to home wall bouldering... I'd love to come out to Deerfield and see just how weak my fingers have gotten, set some problems... Let me know when you'd like to climb--you can email me at tomchaps@yahoo.com. I have a flexible schedule. Thanks! Tom

cromlech- Thanks for inviting me over. I had a great time last night. Thanks for being patient with me and I appreciate the advice. My hands are sore today, it was a good work out for me. I like having the chance to talk with people who have been climbing for a long time. Thanks again.

Tomchaps, are you my old friend Tom Chaplear (sp?) indoor boulderer extraordinaire? You were at UofC doing post grad business history. Your bouldering wall was located in an apartment you had previously lived in. Cromlech - AKA Peter Jones. Welsh (English accent) climber marooned in the great plains. I took you to the "shop". It would be great to see you again. PLJ

Peter! Yep, 'tis me. I'm less than a half-hour from your new place now, according to Yahoo Maps--but I thought you'd gotten a condo in the South Loop? Couldn't resist having a basement for climbing-wall space, I figure... I'd love to come out and show you how weak I've gotten. I've a pretty open shedule, so just send me an email or give me a call sometime. 773-267-6970. Cheers, Tom

Organic/Ruetut, You are welcome to stop by next tuesday night. I will be home by about 6pm and will probably need to kick you out about 10pm, if you are still cranking. Just PM me if you are planning on stopping by. I posted my address and directions earlier in this thread. PLJ
