hi i am eyeballing the black peeler in little cottonwood for this weekend and was wondering if someone who has hit it already can tell me if 1 set of micros is enough...i'm bringing 1 set BD micros, 1 set WC rocks, #s 1-5 in BD stoppers, 0 and 00 metolius tcus, aliens red green blue and yellow, #2 loweball, 4 leeper camhooks, 2 BD talons...I think its more than enough for the 2nd pitch crack but i'd hate to come up short 20 feet from the chains and have to run it on the hooks (though I saw the thread where timpanagos did it all on hooks on a toprope...ah temptation)... also - the guidebook shows no permanent belay at the top of pitch 1/bottom of the crack - is there enough of a feature to set a nice belay that I can use to solo the thing ? weird rope angle to the first piece of decent pro ? anything in particular I should bring that would make the belay better at this point ? many thinks in advance...if anyone wants to go pm me...

PM Chad (Timpanogos). He worked on it this spring. Here's a link to his TR about it: http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=56123 Ed

PaganMB, I'm almost positive that the top of pitch one has a solid 2 bolt belay. The 2nd pitch is only about 40 -50' long. You may also need TCU sizes # 1-3. If you're short bring a cheater stick. Have fun!
