I have made two TR solos of "All I Wanted Was A Pepsi" on the Slab Wall. The first time I hit the low crux, I was wearing cheap shoes and felt like an ice skater. I found two small crimps and nothing for my feet that corresponded, so I yarded up three giant steps before completing the climb. I left 2" of shin skin under the roof of the 12" pocket. Saturday (8/7/04), I tried again with Stealth C-4 resoles on my cheap shoes. I got higher without damage, but it still buffaloes me. This 5.6 feels much tougher, while the bulk of the climb could be 5.5 (like I'm an expert). I would like input from people who know this route, especially if you like it, about the rating and some beta on handling the crux. I have little experience on slabs (and not much more on non-slabs: this was my 9th trip outdoors).
