Has anyone done the Ormes Buttress on Blanca. I've heard it's excellent and I've heard it's a total pile. Definitely a stunning line from below, regardless. Any beta would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link....good info. Does the buttress or the route off of the north ridge have bolts, fixed gear or natural anchors, or should I plan on leaving gear? Is there a better way to hike down, and still end up at the same trailhead?

I think a guy named Gary Clark did the route a couple of years ago. I read a trip report somewhere a while back. The biggest thing they talked about was the descent (they did not descend the route). Anyway, I don't know if descended the north ridge, but they left A LOT of gear behind doing numerous raps on the descent. Gary Clark has a website www.naclassics.com where he has contact info. You may want to email him and check if he's done the route. Also, you may want to post on www.fourteenerworld.com and see if you get a response from them. Good luck. I've always wanted to do that route so I'll be interested in a TR.
