The HB offsets have a transverse taper on the sides and bottom so they're bomber in bottoming pin-scars and flared cracks. Brassies have more of a traditional tapered wedge design and work well in regular tapered placements. I carry both. All the time.

I've got one set of HBs and I'm trying to decide what to get for my second to use on aid climbs.

two sets of HB offsets is a good start for aid climbs. i also have a set of RPs, but they aren't used nearly as often.

I have and use both HB Offsets and Trango Brassies for aid climbing. The advantage of the Trangos is that they are inexpensive - ~$30-35 per set on eBay. Each has their place.

compaired to the equivalent sizes of standard nuts the brassies are also way stronger. good stuff for free and aid.
