In reply to: I'm roadtripping down to the area for Oct. 9-16 with a few friends. Anybody got some recommendations for camping? Good places to eat? We're planning for some sport/bouldering at Rumney and hope to hit Pawtuckaway and maybe Lincoln Woods for some bouldering. Possibly the Gunks as well, but less likely. Any suggestions? I've placed some information for camping in the routes database for Rumney. Pawtuckaway and Lincoln Woods, I can't help you with ... never been there. Yet, there are usually a lot of places to stay if you don't mind looking around a bit ... leafpeeper season and all. See you in a couple of days!! :D :D :D :D

Someone is gonna have to take over for me next year-- I'll be on the other side of the country, more likely than not. Sad. I will email out directions sometime this week.

The directions have been received, bags packed, tank full, gear check complete, LETS GO!!! .... wait ... damn ... it's next weekend! For those who are camping, check the temps at http://www.weather.com/outlook/driving/local/03266?lswe=03266&lwsa=WeatherLocalDriving It appears that it will be a little chilllllly in the wee hours of the mornin' . Better bring cold weather sleeping gear!

Large parts of NH had their first hard, killing frost last night, which means the prime sending season of Indian Summer is imminent. The frost also serves to kill off any straggling bugs that were about. Bring a warm sleeping bag if you're sleeping outside at Jules', and for your climbing pack toss in some warm outerwear, a hat, and maybe gloves.

Thanks for the heads up. I might not have thought about gloves this early in the year. But I will DEFFINETELY bring the 15 degree bad. I am getting excited. I have a guide book for the area, but have never been there. I am so hoping for good weather. Does any one know the number of people who are deffinetly going? and who those people are? I was thinking about bringing some MEAD that I made last year and I want to know how much to bring...and the answer "all of it" is not going to happen. Later all,

It was a lil' chillly this mornin'. Didn't have to brake any ice off the dogs water dish, but did have to scrape the car windows. For those of you who are sleeping outside, one word ... longjohns! Bring the insulation!! The hat idea will be great for sleeping and sittin' in the cool shade whilst belayin' 53 hours and a short drive!
