Congrats, that was a great photo! Of course you made it under your own power. Sounds like you have a kind of exciting story to tell...had to borrow a rope? Backup self-belay device? Hmmm. Internet might not be the place to post it though, you'll never live down whatever it was. But glad you made it, whatever went wrong. And, um, based on some of the photos of the gear which was cleaned, I think that large angle full of tat may have been hard to find... :) -Kate.

Thanks BLaw, Gabe and Ivo for cleaning the Zodiac in good style. I just climbed it with Holly and Daryn and it was a great adventure. The bolts that were chopped were fully not needed. It's nice to climb such a clean line. And we kept it clean. We removed everything except for 4 heads on P9. At least 4 small to medium beaks are useful...but if you have less, back clean like Holly did. Burly. She backcleaned her own rurp and beaks on P8. Daryn hooked out the nipple and placed a 5 camalot at the tit. He didn't really need that bolt, but clipped it anyway so he could hang the large gear (top of the nipple is thin). Thanks Daryn and Holly for good times on the wall. me-ow. ooo ooo.

With Zodiac being a significantly harder climb now than a couple of months ago, what's the feeling on the speed ascents? Should there be pre-cleaning and post-cleaning catagories? Or is that just micro-managing?

speed ascents encourage leaving gear. many who go for speed are more concerned about their time and not what they leave behind. please keep zodiac clean. it's so nice to place and remove your own gear. the placements are all there. ivo, bLaw and gabe put so much energy into cleaning up others mank and waste. take time to clean your own...jean

http://www.rockclimbing.com/photos.php?Action=Show&PhotoID=41487 Here's a different angle of the cleaners in action - okay so you need a magnifying glass, but they are there I swear it!
