Morning! Wow, you`re early today... Take it black. Nice weekend, nothing special but still fun. Climbed twice in the overcrowded gym. Mother came to visit me, had a decent talk over hours and a couple of litres of red vine. 'twas snowing this morning. Didn't last for long but still you really get the winter's feeling now. Kind of eases me down and I need double the coffee to get up. Looking forward to those relaxed tea drinking video nights. Something I really love about the season. - Daniel

morning kids busy weekend, Dad was here visting the new house, he loved it and loved Mike's family too (of course!). Didn't get much done on the house, though, and now mom and sister arrive Wednesday night for Thanksgiving down here as our two families start to merge. I now understand how the holidays can be so stressful for many - this is the first time in years I've had this much family around and it's extremely aggrivating at times! I personally am all for the Seinfeld holiday of 'festivus' where we have the feats of strength and the airing of aggressions!!! coffee, strong, cream and sugar cuz I like it sweet!

Mornin' Croo Had a pretty good weekend. Didn't do as much as I would have liked, but it was fairly restful. I needed it. Sat morning I woke up at 2:50 Am and was wide awake until 4:30. Very frustrating AND tiring. I wanted to pass along this pick of pirate. It brightened up my Monday and I thought you'd all get a kick out of it. http://img.photobucket.com/...115/Socjake/pie2.jpg

The pirate is John Belushi in drag? http://img.photobucket.com/...115/Socjake/pie2.jpg Morning yinz. Short week is right. Unfortunately, I get to drag the baby everywhere to see family. Question to parents. When did people finally stop coming over to "see the baby"? Just when we think it's going to be a quiet day to ourselves, *ding dong* the doorbell rings.

Just when we think it's going to be a quiet day to ourselves, *ding dong* the doorbell rings. Ryan, from our experience, it ends when you make it. It all goes along with the holiday traveling too. At some point, for your own sanity, you may have to let people know that it's time for your "new family" to be alone and establish itself as something more than an extension of two other families. This means it's OK to tell folks you're not recieving visitors unanounced and that maybe once in a while you'll be spending the holidays with just the three of you. Starting your own holiday traditions. Kim and I found that doing the holiday circuit with the kids made our parents happy but made the kids over tired, made us stressed and really ruined the holidays sometimes. You're not just someone's son and daughter anymore. You're a mother and a father and a new nuclear unit. Just my $.02. Morning folks. I'll take my usual XXXL coffee. Mel, I believe it's Yasmine Bleeth.

could be carmen electra too. ryan, I can't believe people are showing up out of the blue. :puts on advice columnist hat: maybe you ought to tell them that you are not running an open house, and if they'd like to make an appointment with the baby she is free every saturday from 12-1. And if they make a stink, start showing up at their houses right around dinner time and mooch the hell out of it. "well I thought you wanted to see the baby?? here she is! oh, are we having steak tonight?" rude people make me ill. fighting rude with rude however, is fine. :)

In reply to: rude people make me ill. fighting rude with rude however, is fine. :) Mel, I don't think that often it's so much a matter of rude as clueless. Among my friends I have noticed that we all reached a point where the "drop-by" was no longer OK. Coincidentally, right around when we all started having kids. Up until that point, everything was so low maintenance we didn't care or even particularly notice the "drop -By." Friends without babies or even parents who haven't had babies in MANY years don't know or have forgotten just how much planning is involved. So someone has to remind them.

Morning Grunts, There was a gas leak in the building next door on Friday afternoon. So they evacuated our whole block. Spent the weekend at my parent's houst painting ceilings. Get back in town last night to find Jake's doctored image of me. I damn near shit my pants. (I'm told it is Yasmene Bleeth's hair). My locks are just down to my shirt collar now. I'll have an x-large cup of jave please. No sugar, I'm sweet enough.

Friends without babies or even parents who haven't had babies in MANY years don't know or have forgotten just how much planning is involved. So someone has to remind them. see...I've dealt with the random drop by, and they stole erik and took him to a strip club under false pretences. I have no problems with strip clubs, but WTF, we were already gone to bed!! So, if erik had had their girlfriends' phone numbers, I was quite ready to call the girls and tell them what the boys were doing. Since their girlfriends were ballbusters, and it likely would have ended both relationships. Yes, I'm that vindictive when you piss me off that much. Anyway, so I'm not at all forgiving of the random drop-by, because I've had such a bad experience with it.

pirate, you're looking very metrosexual today! hate the drop by..................always have. When i lived in the same city as my folks, they used to do the random "pop in"..................and then they would flippin complain that my house was messy or that i was still in bed. Actually they still have been known to pop in and they live 300 mi away!!!...doesn't happen that often drop ins are reserved for good friends who don't give a crap about the house, dress code.............and they're just looking for a beer or a cup of coffee!!!!!

LOL, drop in story... Mrs. Wide just reminded me of the good friend who dropped by while we were having sex. He asked what we were doing to which we answered, "Having Sex." His response? " Cool. So, wanna get a movie when you're done?"

In reply to: pirate, you're looking very metrosexual today! I'll have to update my profile pic soon. That doctored image doesn't come close to the true fabulousness of my locks. I don't mind the pop in.... if you're coming over with a little sumthin' sumthin'. But family is never allowed to show up unannounced and if friends come over unannounced they waive their right to request that I be wearing trousers. Also, if you are just showing up at someone's house, you have no right to be offended if they are previously occupied and tell you to get the fuck out.

WEEEEEEEeeeeE! Did some stuff around my apartment this weekend, got SO MUCH stuff done. Went shopping and bought FURniture! Ack! Commitment! It took me awhile to commit to a color wood to use in my living room. It's gonna be really difficult when I need to buy couches. Mmmmm espresso-stained wood TV stand from IKEA. Coffee please. On that note, make it a decaf! K.
