anyone know if there are many (any) climbers hanging around camp 4 currently? the real question is, if I make the drive to the valley (12/04) looking for fun in the sun, am I likely to find a partner?

I'm no yosemite expert, but isn't there a lot of snow on the ground by now?

Wouldn't J-Tree be better this time of year?

I was there three weeks ago and there was no snow down there, but I did see some tents up. Dated info, but I hope that helps.

Better is relative. Everytime I go to J Tree, I get hypothermic while belaying.

I know I'm going to check it out. People are still climbing, just don't know if Camp 4 is still up and running.

Because I just left JT, it is now ridiculously warm there -- almost 70. The valley, I understand, is mostly in the high 50's this week. Which ain't too bad. I know I plan to hit Yos next week or so.
