I have faith in my abilities and faith in my partner's abilities. I get more scared on belay only due to my lack of control in the situation. I've been climbing a long time and am perfectly confident in my belay technique. I think it has more to do when the going get's tough on lead and my partner's looking at a dangerous fall over a difficult section. Part of me wishes that I was the one up there so he's not in as much danger or something. It's kind of a selfish thought, but it's the truth! Jason
