Redgarden Wall
About Redgarden Wall:
This wall is the largest in the canyon and soars to over 700 ft. tall. It is host to tons of classic routes. Redgarden Wall is a couple thousand feet long, boasts several spectacular summits and an incredible collection of classic climbs such as the Naked Edge, C'est La Vie, Jules Verne, Rosy Crucifixion, T2, The Yellow Spur, The Wisdom... too many to list. Many of the classic routes were put up in the 1960's by Layton Kor, along with climbers such as Pat Ament and Larry Dalke. The 1970's were primarily a time of first free ascents, spearheaded by climbers such as Steve Wunsch, Roger Briggs, Jim Erickson, and Duncan Ferguson. New activity tailed off a bit in the 1980s, though some very good routes were established. Redgarden Wall is usually approached by crossing the creek on the bridge, taking the Streambank Trail past the cement slab, then heading up the hill on the appropriate trail to get to the base of your route. |
