I've climbed with, ratstar traid (i think thats how to spell it) ratstar was very nice and really got me into outdoor bouldering. traid was cool because he let me hang on his ropes and climb with him. Thanks you guys and rc.com for getting us together!

Oh man, I've climbed with too many to remember every single one, and I don't want to leave anyone out. More than a 100... I have met all who came to the SLC(40 users?), Minesota(15 users?), Gunks(15 users?), and J-Tree(15 users?) RC.com Events, and climbed with most of them. (Check the links above to the Trip Reports for members, as they are too numerous to list.) Also have met and climbed individually with the following users outside of RC.com Events: beerandblood climbingjoy froggy betaflash jt512 pbcowboy meadors addiroids trevor (The Boss) jeepmonkey zlipper minime climberchic ivanm hawk527 artm fiend i.karen kranker hangerlessbolt boretribe warfrat I know I'm missing some, but I just got up, and haven't had all my mocha yet. (Will edit and add as they come to me.) Oh yea... And I met my Uncle Stuey (oozingpustule) when I was in Maryland. He rules. None of this would have happened if it weren't for RC.com. Some of the one word descriptions might be funnier to the person they describe, and may pass over the head of those who don't know these people.... but I am trying to hit the mark on everyone....acboett - Mojo Nailzz - lesbaroo SlcNewbe - Nottanewbieanymore Badger - toes? Alpinerocket - Teton (have to say it like a frenchman) oh.... those I met but didn't climb 'with' but shared some good times off the crag. RRadam - ringleader Nikegirl - toes phlyfisher - beers Cimbinganne - Irish Still on my future partner list..... climbercam moonshine ratstar
.... and the rest of you, as soon as I get some time [ This Message was edited by: k9rocko on 2002-07-29 19:16 ]

I first climbed with maculated in Morro Bay, CA...a great climber. Then I met up with beerandblood at Pinnacles National Monument, CA...dude warmed up on an 80' overhanging 5.10d face climb! Last month, I met crackaddict, rock_diva, and flagstaff_climber in Yosemite. Crackaddict was the most humble hardcore climber I have ever met! Rock_diva flew up the rock, making me look old and slow(I am old and slow!)...a sweet girl also. Flagstaff_climber was a good climber and pretty nice guy(even if he is a liberal).

FUN ! Moonshine - Scout - Man, he needs to draw a map on how we down the Sinks Grade II wall - Sure...it looks easy from the road. K9Rocko & Alpine Rocket- - soon I hope

Climbercam came over from Utah to do DT with me on 4th-5th July. We went to the free city pancake feed & parade, then climbed El Cracko Diablo to put our names on top. Home just in time for the fireworks in the evening. Also got our names in the book for a new short, easy route on the 5th, my birthday. Called it "Birthday Boy".

Clymber- very motivated, a hard puller, and quite vocal in his efforts. Darkside- I climbed pure, bolted sport routes at Maple with this alleged trad purist. haha! Moonshine- the mad spandex-clad, road trippin old school la sportiva granite master. Sauron- who instructed me on the finer points of slab belaying. climberchic- we wandered Little Cottonwood in search of routes, finally found a few, I think. clymberchic- after a longass day of climbing and a couple of evening beers she forced me to do no less than SIX climbs in the waning sunlight at Maple. I wish more people would make me do stuff like that. xgretax- she rules on those occasions when you can drag her ass to the crag. I think that that's about it. Please click here to read about the many RC.com members who not only bought me beer, but helped carry my loads up to the base! "Greater love hath none than this - that he pick up a pig for his friend."

I have had the most divine pleasure of climbing with a fantastic climber as well as an all-around fun guy to be with. We met up sometime ago, a time I can unfortunately no longer remember. It was so cool to finally meet someone from the site, someone more experienced than yourself whom you could have learnt many things from, and become a better climber because of it. This guy mentioned above’s name is Grant ( darkside ). Not only is he a cool fellow, but he was really neat and taught me some really cool things. It was a great time that day at Joe Rockhead’s climbing gym in Toronto. Thanks for the good time man!

Trevor (litedawg), I stated that I Met and climbed with most users who attended the Events listed in my reply. You and many more than I listed individually are among them. Also need to add those from the Yosemite/Tuolumne Event to my list.

haha, no lie, camhead .. i love to climb!! Okay, I know that I'm probably skipping over some of the many, many great people who i had the opportunity to climb with at SLC. Let's see, there was some buildering with my alter-ego, climberchic, at the restaurant. And more buildering at the pool with clymber, rrradam, camhead, rck_climber. Gymnastics with hangerlessbolt and sauron. chase with nikegirl, clymber and sauron over my *silver* toes. hhmmm ... climbing, let's see .. all of the above named and then some. floof braved my ideas for hiking/bouldering ('real' rocks, not buildings this time .. hehe) moonshine gave me a tour of little cottonwood and took me up a couple of multi-pitches wyoclimber introduced me to a couple of really good challenges at LCC i.karen and fiend taught me about the wonders of the bop-it ... *hypnotic voice* "hhmmm .. bop-it .. must find the bop-it .." fiend and rrradam got me started on the slackline .. woo hoo! rck_climber *dominated* me and oogled at my back muscles while i was traversing the beams at the restaurant and doing chin-ups to show off for the boys .. hehe .. my favorite sniper with prettiest feet .. rrradam, nikegirl, toobigtoclimb, sauron, and more gave me a taste of big cottonwood ... rrradam made the most exquisite 'get up and go' drink that I've had to date. I'm not sure what all he put in there, but W-O-W ! ! and toobig managed to sneak in a really good pic of me, which is now on the profile. heard clymber peel from the other side of big cottonwood ... does that count? and he snuck a couple of photos of me, even if he doesnt remember ever being around me .. :-P and how could I forget camhead who let me lead at the maples ... woo hoo! .. and then climbed with me until it was too dark to climb anymore .. cant wait until he arrives in Dallas .. woot woot! here in dallas, okay, well, austin, i've had the joy of climbing with .. pulnerth .. among the funniest belays/partners i've had thus far, and my first-ever rc.com climbing partner cajunclimbere .. my caving buddy .. and my all around counselor in all things claustrophobic and otherwise scary ... I love the orange, babe! love the orange .. lol .. hehe goatsoup and dad .. both amazing climbers and very helpful (and safe!) with regards to my little one. .. thanks again! xterramo and dren .. really good guys, also in dallas .. introduced me to the heat/endurance training available at Stoneworks. dren's a stronger climber than he takes credit for, and mo is cool as heck coach .. didnt really get to climb with much, but am definitely looking forward to climbing with him down at Continental Ranch sauron .. didnt get to climb with him, really .. watched him belay a couple of people in SLC and listened to him brag about bop-it high scores and night climbing in Austin .. And appropriate recognition go to Ryan and Travis for the caving, climbing, and general harassment, even if they're not on the site. I'm sure that I havent listed everyone in SLC because I met lots of cool people .. I know that Anne, Crazy and his brother arent listed, but we never really got to climb together .. well, crazy and I met at the gym one night, does that count? They're all super cool in any case. I have climbed with: In chronilogical order: Krustyklimber - unwilling soloist Redrider - brother Smithclimber - driven Yossarian - enjoyable Thelawgoddess - beautiful (inside and out) Redrocker - nephew (and the funniest person I know) I know; Krustykutie - nonclimber (and the center of my universe) Hollyclimber - dedicated (and an Angel on earth) I so want this list to grow, see y'all at Smith! Jeff Now since the Smith gig; Nikegirl - giggler Rickoldschool - grinning Wyoclimber - leader Climbingstud - nice (I took an instant liking to the boy) Russman - good'ol'countryboy (yes, that's one word) Didn't get a chance to climb with; Russmanswife - sweet'lil'countrygal (with the nicest smile) Brogan - SKINNY!!! I haven't climbed with anybody!, but then I only started using the site last week. I'm climbing with Bertman on Monday and then hopefully meeting Dr. Piton next week. Basically, I'm just an old climber in a new place, and I would love some new partners. Please find me; joebuzz

Ahhh yes, the phone and pm tag has ended. Mitch and I had a great time. Climbing was awesome and it was a beautiful hot day. Mitch, let me know where there is another route especially for short climbers, I'd like to try another. Hahahaha. You're the greatest, (until or 'til not till) next time. I'm sure we'll laugh harder the next time.

But those who I have hooked up with since my last post in July... passthepitonspete- I am sure many of you already knew this... ! azrocklizard- heh heh heh altamike- the only person I met *and* climbed with at the gathering kmunderground- actually knew him for months before he signed on with rc.com booyaka- ditto above climbincajun- ditto above menotyou- ditto above *cragchica and I like to spread.... ...the good word of rc.com! (what did you THINK I was gonna say? hahaha) on my "hit list" are: jt512- he's coming to AZ this weekend to frolic in Jacks Canyon! woo-HOO! bring your high-tech long undies, Jay. ooh, and a blender bighigaz- because he's from Tucson. all these new Tucson users, enough to make my head spin and gosh, many more!! more people with whom i've climbed. also, i apologize if i miss anyone from the quartz gathering. there were lots of people from the site who were there but i didnt catch names to faces to id names on everyone .. :-( .. and climbed with even fewer of you. .. as such, some of the descripts are based on interactions "about" climbing even though we havent climbed together "yet." atg200: incredibly patient, very intelligent, and a kick-ass cook climbinnow: verry quiet, but incredibly nice bean: funny and energetic .. watch out if a football game is on. wroyce: kind, patient, and a strong climber cyberclimber: excellent photographer, very personable, great family okieterry: omg, it's famous amos! jk .. very kind and informative, not to mention overwhelming humble. perhaps the newest bop-it initate. chuck: knows the low-down, very friendly, and is not from ok .. superdiamonddave: also very helpful and informative, though we never actually "climbed" together pushfurther: this guy owns a harness? great sense of humor .. smells like copenhagen, yum. xcit: didnt get to talk to him much while climbing, but he has a *great* family and some incredibly smart kiddos.

Gotta update my list now. I have met two people online and then in person, and both were from this site. Now I have climbed with: baza_arrampicare - lucky! What a job, what friends, what a vacation, and what a rack! Someday, I may be lucky enough to have those too. And people I have met, but not climbed with: Polarwid - Awesome! Next summer we'll climb.

Damn... Met and/or climbed with all who were at the J-Tree Gathering 2003 Gig, about 55. Don't want to list names, since I don't want to leave anyone out. That brings the total users I've met to above 170, since I already knew about 25 of the users in attendance. Some of my closest friends I have met through this site.

I have a few now! YaY! Wigglsstick: Probably one of my best friend on the planet. Matt's the strong silent type. Spazzystar: Okay, another best friend. A total spazz. Very enthusiastic about climbing and just a great person to be around. She has asmuch energy as me. Flamer: Fast, strong and funny guy who likes to pick me up and haul me up to him when I belay. I always go for a ride when i climb w/Josh! Mtngeo: A hell of a guy. Sweet, funny, strong and super cool. I can even still say all this stuff after our epic so it has to be true. Uncle_Big_Green: A total crak whore. I just started following Ben around and he's going to have a tough time shaking me. I'm going to follow Ben all over the creek and the desert this fall! He's really a nice guy! Don't let him fool you. He gave up a day of climbing to go up a 14'er w/me. Jamison: Laid back, cool guy that I work w/who has gear but doesn't climb enough! Skibabage: A total sweetheart and a great cook. I hope to climb and slogg with you again soon Martha! Jasona: I almost climbed w/you! We were so close eh? Contact me and we'll give it another shot. kcrag: A strong cool chica. We didn't actually get on the rope together but we were climbing right next to eachother. We've got to change that! Mike Dano, rockfox, freeballin and Craig (what's your user name?): I've climbed w/these guys mostly in the gym and a couple of times outside. I guess I can say the same for them all. You guys are all super cool. I'm still thanking you for being so entertaining and kind to my kiddos that day we were climbing at the GotG! I met and beat up bunch more at the gathering. You guys are all good sports. Shorty, you are a riot!!!!!! Let's get out sometime. oh and I met atg this weekend at wiggies party. I have yet to meet anyone from this site who I didn't like. Can't wait to meet more: climbinganne climber_chick There's more but I'm drawing a blank.

Haven't replied to this in a while, so figured I'd update my list, and bump it back to the top at the same time, as one of the benifits of the site is climbers being able to network and hook up with other climbers all over the place. Gotta add to my previous lists in this thread: -lilhorsechick -coyelc -rmiller -curt -climbsomething -tradpuppy -endlessfall -drkodos -frantik -esoteric1 -climbs4fun -litlabbs -corpse -mattdog -cutiger -socalclimber I'm sure I've forgotten a few, so my appologies if I left you out. I can't remember all the names of the about 20 I met for the first time at the New Year's JTree Gathering. That brings me up to almost 270 users I have met and/or climbed with all over the country. Sure is good knowing that I can find a partner anywhere... Hell, tomorrow I am meeting another I haven't met yet to go climbing at Rumbling Bald, NC as a direct result of the Partners Forum. :D

Climbingbetty_22---that was a fun time at J-Tree, sorry it was so windy! Roserie-Meg. real fun and a hottie too! Next time we'll tie your hair back I borrowed a set of nuts from Rrradam, althoughI knew it was he,and he didn't know it was me. I done thunk on this a while and the list is not small anymore. pattray, rrradam, i.karen, trevor, artm, meg (rosaraie), scclimber, ncclimber (sort of), baja_java, amber_chk, jleibgott, moabbeth, addiroids, mreardon, matt (pranaguy), steve (the_accountant), rich, hyhuu, sdb, richardaiken, zach (pbcowboy77), tanderson, celticelement, joe, climbs4fun (I don't think I tied in with you at any point, though), corpse, cadaverchris, mountainrat, stigonrock, slcliffdiver, erica44 (sp?) and probably others (remembering more as I read this thread). Probably a bunch of my partners over time are smart enough just to lurk on this site and for that I salute them. My wife put me up to this (joining the site) a long time ago, so I blame it all on her, of course.

Beth, sweetie, unlike many others on this site, I didn't "go there", I never went for a RIDE, as if...... I thought, "this chick seems cool, been road trippin' for months, hittin' all the spots, sendin' all the classics, some kinda older woman/hard core trad. mama. Then, when we met, as Gomer Pyle would say, "suprise, suprise". She was the first person I ever met from the internet.

Well, I'll probably forget some folks, and for that I apologize. The people I can remember at the moment: -Flamer (my first rope partner in Colorado... thanks, bro!) -Mtngeo (Ice climbing is the best!) -Kcrag (kind enough to invite a total stranger to her Moroccan BBQ.) -Skibabeage (mmm.. pasta.) -Tradkelly (we never did do the "Naked Midnight Multi-Pitch 5.7 Slab Simulclimb" idea of yours...) -Mother_sheep/tracyroach (manky pitons, anyone?) -Amber_chk (strong for her small size) -Atg_200 (Dude... we WILL do Zion soon.) -Jasona (Despite feeling like death, we still climbed in Lumpy.) -Redpointron (who'd a'thought a good ice climber could be found in Indiana?) -Dpurf (See ya Easter Saturday, buddy!) -Elvislegs ("B, Double-E, Double-R, U, N...") -Phaedrus (a guy with a heart as big as all Colorado...) -Sharpie (thanks for the T-shirt...) -Thelawgoddess (she got up at 4 am, drove an hour to meet us in Ouray, climbed a few routes, then went to work... hardcore!) -Timmo (another from the Ouray Outing!) -Timstich (despite conflicting schedules that never let us rope up on the same days, he's still one of my favorite partners.) -Picket (FA of Pizza Girl's Spice Pie balcony traverse in Ouray.) -Shorty (even though he's too much of a weenie to climb ice, he's still cool!) Again, if I forgot someone, I'm terribly sorry.

I've never personally met anyone through the internet, so I've never knowingly climbed with anyone from this site. However, last weekend I met (by accident) Addiroids and Camp4 at Tahquitz. They seemed like a couple of cool guys.

Anyone out there that would be offended if I added this to the Friends page (People you've Climbed With) as a means for a permanent record? The way I figure, if someone's climbed with damn near everyone, it's pretty easy for a prospective partner to ask around and keep themselves out of a pickle. Not that I have any experience in this matter ;-)

Only started climbing a this year, but have been lucky enough to get invites and go out with: (expressions are probably only meaningful to them) gottarock - "whoa...where exactly are we?" mother_sheep - "i'm hungry, i'm hungry, i'm hungry...is it snack time yet?" zozo - "lobsters are filled with jellybeans???? holy smokes" coclimber26 - "dig these prototypes" mike_in_co - stop lurkin man Today will climb with bustinmins - "it's an obssession I tell ya" Hope to be adding more and going out with them again. Thanks for all the help !!! :D

only climbed with Jono in Cape Town area whilst on honey moon there!.... would love to climb/meet with more RC.com people, but living in Malta (Europe) makes it kind of difficult... however, once we settle a little, (and I get a lot better at climbing!) its one of our dreams to visit the Yosemite area... hopefully will be able to meet some more people!! btw - if anyone plans a visit here.. let me know.. would love to share our gear and take you to some of our crags! These are just the people I have roped up with (or not roped up with, in the case of the boulderers). I've met lots of others, so many I probably couldn't name them all. Heck, I'll probably even forget some of those I've climbed with. Mmindtrap Capn_morgan Taino Dontfall Dookie Coach Costellobr Wallizzzard Rockartist43 and I'm sure more in the future.

i've been a member here for about a two years, and only climbed w/ 2 people from the site. Drkodos - hilarious Frantik - only climbed w/ once for about half a day, but very cool guy. Can't wait to climb w/ both again and hopefully more in the future. No doubt I have seen plenty of members @ Hidden Valley CG, Camp 4, Tahquitz, The Needles, Red Rocks, Bishop, etc., I just haven't roped up w/ them.

Sorry to resurrect this old thing, but I just wanted to note that my partners list is getting long, and that all of them have been good to climb with. I'd rope up again with each and every one, given the opportunity, especially caughtinside*. This past weekend I met up with bobruef at the new Earth Treks gym in Rockville, MD and had a smashing good time. Thanks, Bob! *You virsitile tool, you.

I checked my list and there were several people that I had not ever climbed with and a couple that I didn't recognize. How did they get on there? I took them off so as to not mislead anyone. If they want back on, I guess I could add them, though. Also, J_ung should be on that list, BUT HE BAILED ON ME! Jay, it looks like I may be coming up your way in April or May for a weekend. I'll let you know. Chris

Chris I'm starting to thing that was wise. :P Lemme know when you're coming up? Are you staying with Chris and Amy or do you need a place to crash? PS - those random people on your partner list are the ones who accidentally clicked the rope icon under your name.

I was going to move in, I mean stay with you. I am taking a couple of months off work. Is that spare bedroom ready? No, I am trying to coordinate with Aimee as to when they are going to be there. Trying to get there before my wife gets too pregnant for a 7 hour road trip.

Oh, and yes, Jay, I'm back in Dallas doing school stuff. We still need to climb sometime!

In reply to: In reply to: In reply to: me gusta la acacongua. Me gusta la conguama Carta Blanca. Es similar? gusto, nerds wrong. In the two examples above, the verb "gustar" applies not to the first person, but to "Carta Blanca" or "Acacongua." "Me" puts the first person into the direct object form, rather than the subject form. Gustar does not mean "like," it means something like "gives pleasure to"... So, the examples above mean that literally, "Acacongua gives pleasure to me," or "Carta Blanca gives pleasure to Timstich," rather than "I like Acacongua" or "Tim likes Carta Blanca." However, both "Acacongua" AND "conguama" are mispelled. And I could certainly say "Yo gusto a Acacongua." nerd.

You know, I wondered since I posted that if there was something I missed in my three years of high school Spanish, when I got mostly C's and D's. Now, I have my answer. I usually get "idiot" or "dipsh**". I haven't gotten "nerd" since I started being wrong all the time.

In reply to: "Acacongua gives pleasure to me I'm not sure if I liked reading that in an open forum. I think the actual translation is "Acacongua pleases me." It still sounds, um, personal, but not as personal.
