Back in the day people were responding to threads so fast you couldn't get a post in edgewise. Hundreds of posts per hour at all hours of the day. WTF happened? Where did everybody go? Is the whole site like this now? Has the Golden Age just passed? I want answers now, dammit.

Too many people flooded the forum with Woe is me threads about how much they hate their lives and that they have nothing worth living for. Save their well paying American jobs, house with indoor plumbing and iPads. It got to a point where everyone was posting such noise and nobody was left to console them, tell them what a great person they are, and give them a gold star. Eventually, without the kind words of strangers through the internet, everyone killed themselves. Now we're left with the dregs of the forums, and most of us don't care to deal with it. So unless you post something we can ridicule or come up with a witty one-liner off, we're not going to respond.

Remember little colin? Unlikely. He moderated "comp climbing" or something like that for a few years. I met him here in 2001 when we were 13 and 15. He later defected to b.com, and we wound up living together for four years (with Lox living with us for two of them). Internets: a series of weird, weird tubes.

This site has become a post-apocalyptic wasteland, where either you are completely alone, or roving hordes jump out and mock you. Think Mad Max. The only safety is in autonomous anarcho-syndicate collectives such as Sty's Post Count Increaser. Basically, the key here now is to kick someone's ass, or become someone's bitch. scary, but ttrue

Never met him in real life. I met Lox a couple times in Hueco and TexAss, not sure if he remembers me, though. I just went and clicked a random thread on b.com to see what it was like. Looks like Lox ha gotten nice in his old age. Asshole + wife = pussy.

I prompted it, but there were mutual feelings that it probably needed to happen. Heartbreaking to both parties no less.

Yes, shit happens, and life is all about change, or least a full one is... Imagine how dull a life that didn't chnage would be. I spend most of my time in the soapbox, arguing the same stuff, over and over... Guess I need to "change" some more regarding that, but there is some good discourse from time to time. Oh, and weren't you an Admin too, at some time?

I find that the whirly ones leave a burnt flavor on home roasted beans; which is the only coffee I drink. It also pulls out oils which have a sharp flavor if you ice brew your java; which I do of course. The uncouth aroma leaves me blorted and unable to fit into my tight jeans, and inevitably my common-man jeans get caught in the chain of my fixie.

I find that the whirly ones leave a burnt flavor on home roasted beans; which is the only coffee I drink. It also pulls out oils which have a sharp flavor if you ice brew your java; which I do of course. The uncouth aroma leaves me blorted and unable to fit into my tight jeans, and inevitably my common-man jeans get caught in the chain of my fixie. home roasting? ice brew? Nope, I buy whole beans direct from green mt. You do realize that Green Mt. is just a huge conglomerate corporate juggernaut that takes your money and dumps their coffee grinds in the river, right? Can't we all coexist?

Some of the bearings on my vintage Volvo bike are worn out, and i need to replace them. Problem is, the matching ones are not made anymore, so i have to use never ones, and the the crank will not fit any more, and i also have a new one, so the whole thing is not really vintage anymore! Damn, i really need this bike, but if i do that, i have to hand in my thight jeans and my John Deere hat to the hipster police Other than that, yes the scummunity really got kinda boring, but there is ocassionally some fun to be had, but yes, the "facebook before facebook and not on stupid facebook" part is really missing. didnt dominic7 write a postscript that got him banned? Isnt he kinda back now? If you are reading that: How bout you rewrite that script so that everyones f'book status updates get also posted here? *Bam* Instant 100% of quality scummunity posts! Or just release it as open source, there are enough code monkeys here to maybe make that work. qwert

kachoong wrote: Volvo makes bikes? Used to make? Just as Mercedes Benz, BMW and Prosche (and probably a few others). Or maybe (probably) its just labeled as Volvo, and made somewhere else. Dunno why it is a "Volvo". Maybe they used to sponsor a bike team? qwert
