With either irony or hypocrisy, Headcrak, formerly Doosh, wirtes: Quote: What I think is funny is the concept of writing "as an administrastor" or "as a user"... You are one in the same and your actions as an admin will reflect your character as a person. It's not like a mantle you can take on or off... -Jay

There would be irony if he was to say "As headcrak, I don't take responsibility for what I said when I was doosh because that was doosh talking."

Headcrak is not a troll... Sauron the Admin is the same as Sauron the User. Just as I could unleash the Doosh within and be banned from this site lickety split... You can't just turn off being a site Admin and then give your User Opinion... that opinion will affect your actions. I can turn off the Troll-o-meter. It served it's purpose as a TEACHING AIDE.

Sauron the Admin and Sauron the user are Dom. Doosh and Headcrack are Cody. Usernames belong to users, which, it should be needless to say, are the real-life entities that post. Cody, if you would just once take public responsibility for all the trolling you did under the username Doosh, instead of childishly acting like there was actually an entity "Doosh" who did it, you would completely disarm every opponent you have here. -Jay

Points should be acrued for: -Posting and/or replying to a Forum linked to the FP. -Submitting Photos (the higher the rank, the higher the points.) -Articles -Adding to the Routes DBase. -Submitting Links. -Moderating/Administering Forums. -Adding Ascents to the RDB. The purpose of the points is to accurately reflect who has contributed to the site. "Page Views" contribute what ??? Any user with a LAN can just hit refresh and get 20,000 points a day (something that has been happening which was the basis for this change.) As Dom said, what was changed was "one point for one view". How is removing this removing someone's contribution ??? Especially when those who use the "refresh loophole" to gain an inaccurate amount of points. Enacting this change makes the points more accurate and in proportion to one's contributions to the site (this is the purpose of the points.) Just as points were removed for posts and/or replies in the Community Forum, this change was made. I remember everyone was happy about that change. I stand to lose a LARGE AMMOUNT, and have no problem with it, as the points I am losing do not reflect any contributions I have made. Please... Everyone who replied in protest, please read the reasons for your protest, and notice that they are unfounded, as the only thing removed was "page views", not one ioda of someone's contributions. You were all "up in arms" with out asking what and why. Yes, we should have made an anouncement, big deal... How does it affect anyone ??? Have we removed something from you that you valued ??? If so, then note the reason, as if you value the points you gain for working hard to contribute to this site, then I am sure that you would not like users who just hit refresh 20,000 times a day gaining so much of what you value and have EARNED. I'm a member here for about a month, but i have seen the work of the people that have worked hard in here... I totally agree with Adam. There are ppl that just have fun with the site, talking to the community forum, they do not talk even about climbing, and contribute nothing...Why these ppl have to take points???do they deserve the points that they take??? I believe that nope... Because they are babbling...is it right when people that do not contribute,to take points from doing nothing??? Oh,then you must all do nothing in here since you have nothing to gain...why ppl that work hard in here not to gain something??? I believe that the points for visiting should be eliminated...and the points of the posts, especially of the community forum. This site isn't like all the other sites that exist,we came here to learn something isn't right or am i wrong?!?!? Quote:This site isn't like all the other sites that exist,we came here to learn something isn't right or am i wrong?!?! Despite your atrocious grammar, I think I understand what you are asking. Everyone visits this site for a different personal reason. I would imagine that quite a few people DO come here to learn stuff, which is why you are here... but to think that's why everyone is here is absurd.

Josephine... I understand what you mean... if you close yourself off to learning, then you aren't open to the new possibilities that visiting this site can afford. Jt: Quote:, if you would just once take public responsibility for all the trolling you did under the username Doosh, instead of childishly acting like there was actually an entity "Doosh" who did it, you would completely disarm every opponent you have here. I have always taken responsibility for being Doosh. I have made my reasons well known. Shall I go into all that again ? It is a painful reminder for rrrAdam of another of his shortcomings... and we wouldn't want to do that. Not after she got him penis enlargement for Christmas... See... check it out ! Quote:Just as I could unleash the Doosh within and be banned from this site lickety split... In this passage, I clearly state that Doosh (the character) lives within me and could be brought back from the depths of my mind at a moment's notice. It would be hella uncool of me, seeing as I told Jhundrup, the Admin-for-a-Month, that I wouldn't do such a thing. And I am a man of my word. Word.

Doosh, I have opinions as "me, the user" - and there's opinions as "me, the representative for the site". These two are not neccesarily the same. For instance, as "me, the user" - I might have opinions that are critical of this site - or, of admins of this site - which I could/should not express as "me, the representative for rc.com" - d. Why are you entrusted with running the site, but your input is not taken inot account in the running of the site ?!?! That is a terrible way to do business. Here. These are your tasks. Do them and keep your damn opinion to yourself. It really sucks that a different or contradictory opinion is not welcome in the site management. Even from those who have been asked to help keep up the site. I know that helps me know that no matter what kind of flavor I bring to this site, in the end there will always be a limit as to what kind of change a different viewpoint can bring. Oh well... I'll just bide my time until I can bribe the appropriate party with cash. Everyone has a price... Capitalism ! What's not to love !?!

Adam, I just want to be completely clear on this. The list you give above for what qualifies for points, is it complete and accurate? Is there anything missing? Are there any other loopholes to be exploited? Are you ready to swear that all the information you have given is "true and complete?" I mean, this is really important to some of us. We live for the points! We can not live without the points! We must have points, more and more points!!!!!! I WANT MORE FREAKIN' POINTS AND I WANT THEM NOW!!!!!!!! No, wait, that wasn't me talking. I'm not really like that at all. I'm actually a really nice guy. But periodically this evil being inside me comes out and I can control him. He's a point maniac, a point addict. I just can't control him. But you shouldn't hold me responsible for what he does and says. It's not the "real me." And besides, even if it was me, I have my rights, you know. There's the First Amendment!!!! I can say whatever the @#$%* I want and you can't ##%^^$^ing do anything about it. And if you do try to stop me, it just proves what a &(*^%$ing group of @%##^^@#s you guys really are. No, wait, that previous paragraph wasn't really me. It was that evil guy again. I guess I'll have to join under a new name so I can keep all my "multiple personalities" separate. That way I violate as many of the site rules as I feel like and never have my "main identity" threatened. Yeah, that's the ticket! Now let's see, where was I going with all this? Oh yeah, just trying to up my points. Mark, how much do you want for fiend's points?

(I hope Mark doesn't see this reply. Maybe he won't see it since it's on the next page.) Actually I was planning on paying him in New Taiwan dollars. The exchange rate is currently about NT$35 to US$1. Hopefully he won't notice until I already have all of fiend's points, and I'll make out like a bandit! There better not be any Canadians trying to muscle in on my deal!!!! [ This Message was edited by: twrock on 2003-01-04 12:54 ]

OK, here I go being a newbie again... Being new to this site I honestly don't know what in the world you are all talking about. Points??? What points. How can I see my points? How can I see other's points? I did a brief look-through on the site info, and I found something vague about "qualitative points" but no info on how to access these points. Look, just b/c I know how to climb doesn't mean I'm great with a computer. Can anyone help a non-computer nerd out? If so, you can have my current points, how ever many that is.

Oh yeah. One other question. Why would anyone in their right mind spend an entire day hitting refresh just to get points that don't mean anything?
