Cliffnotes version. Iz gud.

"what happens in vegas stays in vegas" is for wimps who can't telll the difference between a good screenplay and a brick in the wall.
Well the general plan is for:
"what happens in vegas stays in vegas"
cause well, we already have enough kids to keep us busy.
Annyyyyrate, my thought wuz to check out RR canyon, looks worth exploring and photographing, maybe try to do a quick hookup on the easy spurt wall. Trash haz also mentioned noiZ as write up the rode. We'll seeze.

You haven't been to RR yet? Nice place. The sport climbs are easy to get to, although they are much farther away than you expect them to be. Like anything in the canyon, everything looks a helluva lot closer than it really is.

personally, I think the sport climbing there isn't all that great, but for your situation it's probably pretty good. Some walls require a 70m rope, though, so be mindful of that.
Yep, never been to RR.
Never climbed in The Valley.
Coordinating these things w family etal is kinda PITA.
What can I say, sucks to be me?

well, it's impressive. you're not going to want to leave. the moderate mulit-pitch routes there rival, if not exceed, those at the 'Gunks. Some will say they exceed the 'Gunks because they are longer, but some will say the 'Gunks exceed RR because they are simply better and easier to access.

To each his own. Both are at the top of my favorite places to climb...and the others aren't even close.

6 pitches of 5.6 trad sounds fun fun fun two me. Its a shame I'm not up there once a year for a long weekend doing that...
wait
*thinking*
I have a occasional partner and fellow family man...
A day of easy spurt klimbing w/ the families then a day of turd klimbing with us, hmm....
This has been a day of enlightenment 4 me. Cool

Knot sure wether I'll be able to swing by RR on Sun to do a little cragging. We're knot leaving till mon morn, but the weekend is suposed to be a birthday getaway 4 the wife.

You should spend a day and drive up to noiZ. It's only 2.5hrs away.
Knot a bad idea. We are free awl daze sonday.

I don't have any solid plans for Sunday and will most likely be making bread and recovering from Christmas parties on Saturday night. But if you want to make the trip up to noiZ I'd be happy to show you around. We could even do a couple of roots at the crag I took Kart to.

Just bought the following artist's software: ArtRage, and I gotta say it's pretty sweet.

For artists out there, the trial version lasts forever and actually has a lot of really good features to use. I decided to buy the full "studio" version because it is currently 50% on sale at only $20. The "pro" version is a lot more expensive and has more features than I really want (at least right now).

Anyway, it's pretty sweet and I'm kind of stoked (in a dork / geek kind of way) to have it. The only downside is that I don't have a writing / drawing pad yet (takes the place of a mouse, but you can draw on it). Those suckers cost over $150 at least, but in the meantime I can learn to get good at drawing with a mouse.

My favorite feature thus far is the trace method where one uploads a photo to practice drawing techniques.

Did I mention I'm kind of excited?

so this is my very first creation (just playing around). I call it "Blue Monkey"

click on the full screen and you can see how advanced this software is. Of course, I can't compare with other artist softwares, but this is pretty advanced in my book.

I am tempted to run the new GNOME on my archlinux partition, though I am pretty sure JT512 and the rest of the followers of the arch way will hunt me down and beat me to death with the xmonad instruction manual (which would take a while - not many instructions).

Maybe we will hit the Ben, but it's such a long walk in, and it's always crowded at the weekend... Maybe on Monday.

Thinking about it, we should DEFINITELY hit the Ben, I mean - that is what Scotland is famous for, right? Ben Nevis.

He is from North Carolina (where I climbed with him) but recently moved to Germany.
