Hells yeah!!! How late you staying at CR tonight, the usual? I MAY be able to make it down tonight. Maybe I'll head over to Hammond instead and see what that scene is all about. Or I could just go to QQ again and see who I see.

Decisions decisions.

Hey chad, I'm glad to see you are feeling better. Well enough to go climbing...even better. I was wondering if there will be anyone at QQ or hammond tomorrow night with a rope I could share the use of? I could be at either place by 4 or 5. Thanks a lot

I think I may be able to hit Stop and Shop on the way over. The Hibachi sounds like a great idea. Please don't forget it..I would look like an ass with a ground meat and the like in my car. Any requests for stuff at stoppy's? Let me know here or PM me.

td, i should have enough meat to share with ya, if you'd like. i don't have any corn or veggies or anything but i'll get by if you will. changing my estimated arrival to 430, since I'm going to stop at home to pick up the hibachi and stuff. later, jeremy

btw - i won't likely be on rc.com anymore today ... if everyone bails on me could you call me td? thanks dude.

I can be at QQ around 5, today's my birthday, so I'm meeting friends out at 8 which means I can climb until about 7

Rob, Chad what time are you planning on getting there?

Great time at CR the other day, some nice runs there. I'll send over those pictures to you Rob soon. Thanks

Well Damn you guys aren't making this decision easy on me...

Today is my comapny BBQ at my bosses house. Swimming pool, volleyball BBQ etc. I was trying to decide BBQ or Climbing? BBQ or Climbing? BBQ AND climbing changes the whole situation. I have my excuse for an early exit all ready to go. So if things there are as lame as expected, I'll be at QQ by 6:00. If I get roped in to staying sorry I missed it.

Folks hear about the accident at Black and White Rocks (Middlesex Fells) yesterday? Seems like the guy was pretty badly hurt - I wonder if anyone here knows him?

Can't find the story online, but it was in today's Globe.

wow this is turning into a real party! ;-)

hey if you guys want, I can bring my propane camp grill, I have propane and everything for it, I'll stick it in the car anyway.

I am playing hooky today mostly for a mental health day - I'll tell ya all about it there, well maybe... suffice to say I may be ordered out of my house next tuesday... my ex has NO IDEA the discompassionate unthinking juggernaut she unleashed when she gave that lawyer the retainer - so i am planning on heading to QQ abotu 3:30 which should get me there from milford at about 4:15 or so...

see you all there!

It does seem as a great day ahead at QQ! I don't know if i'll be able to find some food around here, but hope it will be ok if i show up even without food
I should be there by 5 30, so please have dinner ready!

I climbed at HP yesterday and it was a nice evening, although a bit crowded, with 5 ropes over one wall, some kids on a motivation class trying to climb, and some unrelenting mosquitos. Climbing there seemed much easier than QQ last week - did three 5.6 - 5.7 routes and then went out for a beer with the local climbers, which was also fun (only Pascal drank and i watched being a concsious driver :( )

Rob, hope climbing will alleviate a bit your problems...

Hope to see you all there,
Julia

hey all the wedenesday night QQ peeps!!! Oi!

I had a great time at the quarries, screwed up back and all (my back went into a nice painful momentarily imobilizing spasm rightn after my first pass up Layback...next time, remind me not to get older ok? ;-) )

Jeremy, Chris, TD great to see and climb with you guys again (nioce to meet you, Amanda). Jeremy, after you left, Chad, Julia, Jason and I hung out for burgers and brews I'll stick a spatula inside the camp grill so I don't forget it next time, wound up not leaving the place until about 9:48pm ;-) we moved the party around to M face after all gear was cleaned, for slighly lower bug count. also met Owen and Steve, and damned if I can remember then name of that guy who belayed me on the M-face arette...

I dunno if Tom reads this but I'd like to thank him for coiling my rope, and alsom MANY thacks to Chris/Bostonclimbah for the 100mg of ibuprofen, without wich my climbing evening would have DEFINITELY been over.

Julia and Jason, once again good job! both game to try lurch which isn't an easy route at all. you go n00bs! Julia after another month of working it, you'll be flying up Layback. Jason, nice job on the burgers. ;-)

oddly enough, climbing with the screwed up back kinda helped me concetrate on technique, because I had to reaaaallllyyy be smooth and not just bull my way thru tough moves...although by all the grunting and swearing I did on the arette, you'd never have known it. after the rest ledge, a lot of the moves hurt (back), and I was really vocalizing the pain...seemed to help, I really got into this focused "just one more move" mindset, until my hands gave out about 3 feet from the anchor. the tightness in my back would't let me pull my left foot up to toejam the crack, damn it!

I'll post what few pics I have later today.

still planing on CR friday night. might wind up mostly being the belay slave, back dependant.

*Gear Alert*

since today is payday, and I need to feed my head, I just went to REI and bought a #1 WC wired rock (only need the #2 to complete my set) and two C.A.M.P. tricams, #1.5 and #2 heh!

be playing with those tomorrow night!

Damn didn't we have a good time at the Quarries last night, huh? Climbing was good, my hand survived. Jason got some belay experience. Julia climbed strong. Met Jeremy again. Saw TD on rock again.

And then we had charred animal flesh and femented beverages. Closed the joint and then some.

Gotta do that more often. :D

Rob, you just want to go on the M face so we can more easily hear/see you grunt, scream and let's not forget swear as you give the arete hell. Seriously, that sounds like a great idea. I would like try a different route than....shit the name escapes me...the one with all that lovely paint on it...ah shit..,(insert name here). Who know's maybe I'll be able to complete something other than "layback". Thinking positve thoughts...thinking positive thoughts...thinking positive thoughts. Until next time...

WOW, the 4 letter word for excrement is replaced with poo? Golly, that just takes the gusto out of any statement. Yes, I said gusto and golly. Is anyone truly offended with that 4 letter word? or has censorship gone too far. Let me know. Actually is there another thread I should be posting this in? I have a feeling this not a virgin topic. Oh well, I already typed it here, so here it's going to stay.
