yeah, i'd like to see a longer festival....like maybe one day for all the good stuff, and then the rest of the days for clinics and what not. that way, we can all get some good climbin' time in and then take a day to go rustle up free stuff and then head back out for more climbin!

if other people want to have fun at an event like this, just let them without being a dick in yet another thread. In reply to: Andrew, this site is about being a dick! Wanna-be's and Wankers. This site is full of them. you know, stuff like this makes me sad. i've met tons of great people through this site. some of us are actually here to talk about climbing. a refreshing sidenote, in talking with countless people about rc.com at the event, there are a lot of lurkers out there who use this site as part of their standard beta searching when planning a trip to another area. the beta and photos seemed to be their favorite aspects. yay for good vibes! i'll write more about the event later .. right now, i'm supposed to be working.

In reply to: you know, stuff like this makes me sad. i've met tons of great people through this site. some of us are actually here to talk about climbing. That is my point. A lot of talking and very little doing. A lot people with massive amounts of posts and very little climbing experience! Keep up the good work and keep those posts comming.

Keep up the good work, it is quite impressive that you can drink-your-self-silly on back-to-back nights. You should also note that post was not pointed at you. Let the games begin!

In reply to: somebody got dropped on lead by his belayer on 'fear and loathing.' rumors involved the words 'gri-gri' and 'operator error,' though i wasn't able to get anything more than that, and those at the scene didn't give out much, but seemed to think that the climber was going to be ok, eventually. Yikes. Hope they were okay. Any more info on how it occured? On a happier note, talking about speed records....my friends Ivo and Renan on Tuesday did a 20 hour linkup of Levitation 29-Cloud Tower-Epinepherine. The climbing itself only took them about 7-8 hours, the approach/descents and the hikes between the climbs made up for 12-13 hours of it. Not sure if it's a speed record but it's a hella cool accomplishment to knock out all THREE of those classics in under 24 hours without the use of a vehicle. Very proud stonemonkeys they are!!

wow, guys - that's awesome. i had to work all week and then was obligated to the booth so i didnt have much time to climb at red rocks. :( i'd hoped to sneak in some climbing on sunday am before heading out to zion, but we took a little longer at albertson's than expected. ;) i got in a full day of climbing at zion though, which was cool - i'm a sucker for gorgeous landscapes and pretty weather so it was nice to be out there again .. cant wait until i'm able to get on a rope again. to quote the yoda - better, stronger, and wiser, she'll be. ;) at any rate, it was really wonderful to see old friends again and to finally put faces to new names .. many thanks to mr copperhead for the cool trinkets and such. i've shown them to just about everyone i've encountered since the event. weee, what fun. equally excited to have finally met the infamous joe cool - and at the beer stand of all places ... personally, i think it's a sign of a wonderful friendship to follow. climbsomething .. just as bubbly and fun irl as online. she and alex had to wait on my intoxicated self saturday night, i was intro'd to greg barnes on my way out so obviously had to stop and chat for a bit. again, sorry for the wait. climbs4fun ... *way* cool chick, dragging me around the event with our froofroo drink from flamer. katydid .. so much in common, where to start .. i had a wonderful time chatting with you, even if we didnt get to climb much. ;) *finally* met maculated. though, we didnt get to chat much because she was recovering from an epic. and art ... someone is finally shorter than artm!!! can you believe it?!?!! so many other wonderful peeps .. i need to do some more work, but i'll come back and post more soon.

Very cool. It's hanging on the same biner as the Crack-n-Up Curt gave me- my biner of "sport climbers aren't supposed to know what these things are" oddities ;)

Copperhead gave me a copperhead too! I'll either hang it from my rearview mirror or put it on my keychain with my Access Fund piton bottle opener.
