I'd be happy to share a tent, especially with the right tentmate...

Actually, barring "the right tentmate," I'll probably just sleep under the stars so there might be room for two in my tent.

Last time i was there the cyotes (sp?) were snooping around out tent pretty good, i'd be afraid they'd "mark" their teritory if i was out under the stars.

which would you really rather have....a coyote come and try to lift his leg on you, and get shooshed away, as you jump 3 feet into the air when you wake up form that beer fog thinking "holy cow....beer gogoles! My "tentmate" sure didn't look like that when I unzipped the fly!"

Or

A coyote come and get away with peeing on your tent, while you remain completly unaware until.....next time you unpack your tent and (as the song "sorta" goes) "ewww....that smell..."

after a bunch of us drinking a keg or two of beer, I'd think it would be the coyotes who should be worried about getting peed on, not us

Fire_eyes, I don't think we'll need to start a new thread, let's try and keep this as contained as possible. we can just put up a post on this thread maybe on the first post, saying who has been confirmed to which site etc.

fisrt though sned off individual PM's to the users who have requested a spot at teh sites. I'm going to go and get another site today as well....

Good deal ren! We'll just keep this thread alive then and if you are planning to attend, please say so in the thread so you can be included in a little 'surprise' (assuming it works out).

This gathering is going to be sooooo fun!

Oh, and speaking of coyotes, two weeks ago when I was there there was one on Quail Springs road acting hurt (he'd hop on three legs, then walk/run normally when he got spooked) begging for food from the cars that all stopped to get a good look at him. I got some pictures and managed to stop one tourist from feeding him...they're funny critters!

I leave at 2:00 today to spend the weekend there with 5 others. It's gonna be great! Hope you all have a great weekend,
Darcy

Not to mention the scorpians...we've had fun meeting one of those...

oh and the bats...That was histerical!! Hanger throwing me in front of him, to "protect" himself from the divebombing us, for the bugs our tika's were attracting.

weeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I've never laughed so hard in my life!!

you can count myself and eyecannon in for friday night/saturday climbing. It'll be getting too close to exam time for me to sacrifice the entire weekend.

well I'm going to get my sites as close to Darcy's as possible. with any luck, I should be able to get it right next door per se.

pheenixx...deffinately bring the big tent, the more we can cram into them the better.

I''ve only got a 2 man and a bivi-sac that some wonderful girl gave me for my Bday last month!

Okay, here is the list that I figured from the old thread, and here. Sorry if I missed anyone....

If you're planning on coming, say so, and I'll add to the list. This should help in planning for the group site, I'd think, and also help people to coordinate with each other. (Oh....if you would like to not be included in the group site, say so, and I'll put a little asterisk before your name, I guess).

Yep. Ren and I have requested to have sites as close together as possible. It won't be much of a walk even if they end up not being adjacent. Besides, we'll have rope and rope bags, if you are too drunk to return on your own we'll just roll you onto the tarp and drag you back to your tent

ren (being the kind soul that he is) has reserved two more sites for the gathering. So, we now have room at Black Rock for 36 people, 12 cars. Please be sure to PM him or myself with your camping count, # of people, # of cars. Keep in mind you may have to park your car at an area outside the park if we fill up.

happie...your help keeping the list of attendees up-to-date is super appreciated. I have a surprise planned and need as complete a list as possible.

Thanks!!

Surprise, what? We all get our very own RC keg cup with our username on it? :D

Another idea for safely getting people around the camping area would be to create a system of handlines from site to site. That 1st class stuff can get pretty tricky.
