After over 5 years of construction, Carabiner's Indoor Climbing opened in December 2004. It is designed from the ground up to be one of the world's finest and largest indoor climbing gyms.
Our outdoor portable tower is 46-feet tall with 8 top-rope stations - a feat of engineering in its own right.

Just checked...everything she has posted is about the gym...That is bad for business, it just shows that you are trying to show off, and thinking that you are better than everyone else's gyms, and that you are probably going to be a very annoying company focused only on money.

Also, do you actually have any routes marked? I don't see any...

I didn't post it here - it was moved here. I was attempting to update the incorrect address and phone number by replying to the link and description that was listed deep in the Mass Climbers Thread under Southeastern Mass Gyms.

I'd be happy if they took it off here.

FYI, next time, it would be easier to go to your profile, click on "find all posts by this user" and then edit the origional

I didn't post the orginal, therefore can't edit it as far as I know.

And I've posted a whopping 13 times total. I read more often than I write.

And for a non-sequitor segue, know any guides in Yosemite for a day of climbing in early May?

I wouldn't consider this thread spam or "bad for business." :wtf:
Looks like a sweet gym to me. Wish I lived close enough to check it out.

yea it's spam when there have been several threads about it, and it's in the links section, and probably the routesdb

Kathabiner is just a spammer.

She's started a number of threads promoting her gym- including, memorably, a breathlessly excited one in which she said she thought it was the BIGGEST IN THE WORLD  - and contributes little or nothing to the forum as a whole.

I see she's started a thread with some flimsy question in it, in an attempt to look like she's not just here to spam us. Nice try.

What do the mods think about this? Are spammers allowed as long as it's climbing spam?

The mods here do a great job of squelching actual spam. The OP has already explained that she was making corrections to a post she couldn't edit, so I do not see how that qualifies as anything to beat her up over. If she was advertising cut-rate Viagra or mortgage rates it would be different, but it's a climbing forum and it's a climbing gym, and so, not spam. Gyms are businesses that make money, but so what? And maybe she's never posted about anything else, but so what? No one is obligated to look at it unless they want to, and not everyone has the time or inclination to read every single post and dbase entry from day one about every topic. So quit whining about it already. Or else do whatever it takes to become a mod yourself and then you can go all Gestapo on whatever you want.

Fine, I'm a spammer for trying to update information on a link far away from this general forum so that it's accurate. But I find it ironic coming from tradman, replying to a topic "Best Rock Gym in the US" with yet another post about Ratho in Scotland.

Ah now kath, you're the spammer here trying to drum up business for yourself, not me. Let's not forget that you yourself called your posts "a shameless marketing ploy".

If you doubt my contribution to this site, please feel free to review my posts outside community. Until you are contributing at a similar level, I would suggest that you should consider defending yourself instead of making attacks on me.

Oh, and since you asked about my posting about Ratho, I did so as a useful point of reference - it is the largest indoor climbing faclility in the world. Since I don't work for Ratho and I therefore stand to gain nothing by talking about it, this could not be considered "spamming".

Thanks!

Just come out and say that you've got a new climbing gym, you want people to visit, come check it out. Straight up. Climbers are smart, they know when they are being sold to.

Oh, by the way, I've got a new gym. www.thecircuitgym.com. Come climb, I need the money!

So what's up with your website? All I get is a cartoon picture of mountains and a couple boulders. Not very enticing.

I don't see what the big deal is  , it (the one in Mass) seems like a SWEET looking gym, very different from the average indoor establishment... I think it is worth checking out, and might try to get a road trip up to MA when school gets out for the summer :D

I've been going to Carabiner's for a few months now. Awesome climbs, and awesome staff. If anyone is in the area and wants to check it out (or local bouldering areas) let me know, I go a few times a week (I live down the street)

Funny thing is i probably wouldnt have seen this thread or ever heard about this gym had it not been for the knee-jerk anti-corporate responses that kept it on the front page. Looks like a pretty cool gym, and I'm all about the $9 college night thing.

Yeah, companies that focus on money are evil. Damn capitalist fatcats always putting up climbing gyms then trying to get a return on their investment!

In fairness to the original poster, she was trying to update info about her gym the was erroneously posted in another thread and PM'd a mod explaining her actions. We're willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that she is new enough to not know the best way to handle this dilemma.

We'll lock this thread and I'm asking kathabiner to update her gym info in this thread she started in December about the opening of her gym.

http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=959192#959192

Kath, please keep all future mentions about the grand opening of your gym to this one thread. As for the incorrect posting of your gym info in another thread by another member, please contact that person directly to ask them to remove or update that info correctly. Contact a mod if you don't get the cooperation you need (or PM me with a link to it -- I can't find it).
