Wrong Stoney, The climber is referring to Stoney Ridge in PA. Problem is most of the stuff is not in the newer "92" guide either. If you have any questions let me know I can fill you in on a lot of the newer climbs. ~Rob

Hi Rob, I’m new to the area and have read a lot about Stoney Ridge in PA….in your opinion what would be the best park for sport climbing (5.8 - 5.12) with 2-3 hrs or less of a driving distance from Philly….? If it is Stoney.. where can I buy or get a guide? Thanks, ACG :D

Birdsboro is most likely the best and closest spot to you. Only a short drive from Philly. Stoney is nice, it is on private property; the fire station has no problem with climbers but they only own a short section--like 4-routes for example--the township does not want climbers there and the quarry certainly does not want climbers on the property. Most home owners dont want you parking near their houses either. That being said I have climbed there for 20+ years and never had a problem. As long as the place stays low traffic and is not publicized access should be the same. If you need a guidebook for birdsboro or stoney let me know. ~Rob
