I'm getting ready to visit City of Rocks and would like to know which guidebook is considered the best. Whata ya think? I'm leaving soon and would really appreciate any feedback.

Dave Bingham's latest edition is pretty good. Updated to photos now. I think between the crispness of the photo's, the route descriptions, the history, the layout, and that its his 7th or so effort, I'd probably give the head nod to Dave's over the other guidebooks.

If you can find Tony's guidebook with both the Castle and the City (the comprehensive guide) for under 20 bucks, that's a good deal as well, plus, you get a guidebook that covers both areas.

For anyone out there still searching for a guidebook, there's now a digital one with more routes and more detail than any other! If you have an iPhone or Android you don't even need to carry anything extra. Tony Calderone's guidebook for rakkup http://www.rakkup.com/...y-of-rocks-climbing/ has turn by turn directions to all the climbs and a great price. I used his print book back in the 90's but it's been out of print as long as I can remember, so it's great to have this back again.
