I am plannning to build a campus board in my house, and the only available spot it in a basement with 8 foot high ceilings, making the usuable surface for a campus board 4 ft. Is it worth it?

Yeah it is. You can just run laps on it...up,down,up,down. You'll get as much of a workout as going up a 20ft campus route.

you MIGHT be able to eek out a 5 foot tall board, with the angle and all but why? build a bouldering wall instead. you get way more use out of it than just a campus board (which you could do on the wall) an 8x8 wall is plenty

My campus board is only 8 ft tall (rungs on the top 4 ft), and I still get a good workout from it. =)
