what were the problems you were reffering to about alpinist magazine? I always loved their issues since the first one.

I mean come one it is only around 45$ for a one year subscription. How much does one spend on coffee or beer in a year?

In reply to: In reply to: How about #14 w/the collapsing ice pillar ? I wonder if he stayed continent....in the moment AND after looking at the photos...I nearly shat myself just sitting on the couch! . 'There are two kinds of people in this world....those whose arses sieze up in the face of conflict and those whose dont. They say Winston Churchill didn't take a shiite during the whole battle of the bulge.' just a quote from the movie 'Rare Birds' - good flick, and yeah, how did that guy get out of that pillar collapse alive? Also note the belayer - it goes to show why you should belay from off to the side in ice climbing.

Right on! I lost a few and a couple AAC's during Katrina - plus a ton of valuable stuff. Letter going to Alpinist. Here's the deal with Alpinist - its the best magazine huge losses can afford. It will be a VERY sad day when they are forced to make a profit. For the record, I prefer advertisements to stories on Fountainbleu. To be stuck with the other two rags is very depressing to me. Jeff
