I will likely end up driving up friday afternoon/evening - are any of you dallas-ites going up friday? We could get together and either carpool (I ought to have lots of space in my truck), or we can convoy... - d.

Z-Man...I looked it up in the "guide" and it said .12b. But it's like no .12b I've ever been on. I swear, I have been thinking about the Quarry all week! I can't wait to get back out to that place! It's SO awesome. (I wonder how much they would sell it for?)

Hey, push... How long does it take to get from OK City to the Wichitas? Considering coming out there now that the bridge is fixed over at Webbers Falls. Thanks, Julie

Hey arrockgirl, I'm not push, but it's about an hour and a half, real close to 100 miles from the center of OKC to most of the climbing areas. Depends on how fast you drive I-44 is toll (costs $2.75) and the speed limit is 75. Once you enter the refuge the speed limit is 45 (watch out for Buffulo). Hope you can make it. Wave bye bye now

Sauron, I have a corolla .. it's smaller, but more fuel efficient .. and I'd be happy to split the cost of fuel and bop-it challenges on the way up. :-) [ This Message was edited by: clymbr_chk on 2002-08-09 11:02 ]

$1 if they wanted to get rid of it bad enough! Lets see, what lurks in the soil and water? hmmmmmmm.. could it be... polychlorinated biphenyls!...or......asbestos!....or maybe....lead!...or...arsenic!....or... ...SATAN!

Getting off the subject for a moment, aarong and okieterry, I've been hearing about and seeing pictures of the quarry for years, got dirrections once and didn't find it. Would love to tag along if you do go there over the Labor Day break, although from what I've heard the climbing will probably be TOOOO hard for the likes of little ole me.

clymber_chk, I don't mind driving either - maybe I'm enjoying my truck a little too much... Anyways, I'll drop you a PM later this weekend (or next week), and figure out meeting place or summat.. Don't forget, I have to fight my way up to Dallas from Austin too, and whatnot. - d.

the lady at LETRA said the only group spot they had wasn't good for tents(rocky ground, or something..) so if we camp at LETRA it is first come first serve individual sites..

*sigh* and i must confess that as much as i'm looking forward to this trip, it sure would be nice if my hacky-playing, hand-tying, carrying-amber-down-the-road ray of sunshine would come down to oklahoma and play for the weekend .. *really big huffy sigh* *pout .. pout* [ This Message was edited by: clymbr_chk on 2002-08-15 06:42 ]

Hi all, I've been reading some of rradams night climbing posts and I would like to give it a try while we are in the Wichitas over the Labor Day weekend. 1. Is anyone else interested? 2. Since most of the area gates lock after sundown, does anyone know of a place that is still accessable after dark? The only place I could think of that might not be closed off is the Meadows, is there a gate on that road? Let me know what you think. I'm looking forward to seeing you all.

Amber, Lower Mt. Scott would be quite a hike, uphill both ways, err, well, you know what I mean. Sauron, don't be so negative my friend, you've got to BE the heat, LOVE the heat, EMBRACE the heat How long has it been since you hugged a HOT rock? Hot rocks need climing too! Has anyone done any night climbing in the Wichitas? Is it legal (more worried about access relations than actual arrest)? Know any good spots?
