Hi, So I posted about a week ago mentioning that we were going to take a trip to Red Rocks and got some really useful feedback, so hopefully I can get some good info for this, too. . . Driving down to Red Rocks requires going through Utah. The weather for the first weekend is supposed to be kinda rainy in Vegas, so we were thinking of taking maybe a day or two in Salt Lake, or Saint George, or Moab (or wherever else). Does anyone know how the conditions in these areas are? Or know of a better place we could spend a day at before heading to vegas? Thanks, Paz, Mike

judging from the weather outside, this weekend won't be real good for climbing in SLC. forecast looks rainy for Moab, and I imagine that if Vegas is rainy, St. George will be as well. My advice - bring the skis and do some skiing on the way down.

Moab (indian creek :D ), Saint George, Zion, or maybe Joe's are your best bets. SLC would be kinda chilly. Unless you wanna ski, they just got dumped on overnight. What kind of climbing are you looking for?

Most of northern utah has been snowing all morning. Orem and provo got somewhere between 3-4 inches. Try southern utah. If its snowing along the wasatch its probably not good in Joe's. Triassic will be good on monday. This storm may have missed Ibex. Check it out.

Forget Moab or Indian Creek for this weekend. Forecast is 38 and snowing for Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon. Was going to head down there myself this weekend... stu-pid snow...

well, looking out of the window in my classroom it's snowing really hard and there's a few inches on the ground right know. looks like a big storm is coming in. ibex might be a good option, the storm might've never hit there.
