The International Sustainable Development Studies Institute (ISDSI) in Chiang Mai, Thailand is hosting a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) training course from July 23 through August 1, 2006 This internationally recognised course is sponsored by the Wilderness Medical Institute (WMI) and the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) This program trains participants to respond to emergencies in settings where immediate medical care is not available--including urban, rural and wilderness medical emergencies, as well as disaster situations such as earthquakes, tsunamis, terrorist attacks, and similar emergencies. This course is ideal for disaster and relief workers, educators, NGO workers in remote settings, adventure travel professionals, group leaders and anyone who might be in a situation--urban, rural or wilderness--where emergency medical care may not be immediately available.
