I am here in Wuhan China teaching English for four months. I found a great website that had some guides for Yangshuo. http://www.chinaoutdoors.com/activities/climbing/yangshuo.html The only problem is that I will be there at the end of August with no gear. so does anyone know if you can rent it in town? I am just dying to climb there, or anywhere for that matter. [ This Message was edited by: chunkymunky on 2002-08-22 05:29 ]

chunkymonky, There are lots of climbers down in Yangshuo. I know some climbers run a bar/coffee shop sort of thing there. They can fix you up with gears and beta. email me if you need more info. Jane

For anyone who is interested in climbing Moon Hill, Go to the Lizard Lounge and talk to Simon. This is the local climber's bar and they run a guide service out of it for about $7/day. Simon speaks English well and is a very competent guide. The weather is very hot so avoid it during the summer months. The town of Yangshuo is a friendly backpacker stop with plenty of hostels. Feel free to contact me for more info on climbing there. [ This Message was edited by: el_capitan on 2002-10-11 09:28 ]
