Note the ropes, camera tripod, and shots from above. Quite the "commune with nature."

Check out the story in Outside: http://outside.away.com/...te-arch-climb-1.html

Guess he did TR it several times first. Bunch of jumarring up and down. Then some more times for the cameras. Also, there're clear grooves in the rock, plain as day. Whether they're from his ascents or previous ones is unclear at this point.

Good article. So was that statement at the end Dean's "unforced apology"??

A slap in the face of anyone who fights to keep access to climbing areas open.

In reply to:
Potter climbed the face, choosing to use small depressions in the rock for holds rather than breakable nubs. Following the blue cone of light from a headlamp, he reached the top without a hitch. Once there, Lynch says, Potter set up an anchor with four cams stuck in a horizontal crack in the cap of harder rock on the summit.
Well, that certainly changes things a bit...

Shame is the only thing he communed with that day I just don't think he gets it yet.

yeah, it's not working anymore, don't know why. But there was a great shot of Dean talking, with the fixed line hanging down the arch behind him.

Steve probably exceeded his bandwidth, with all the traffic over here from it's posting.

I could probably get it from him, and repost the "one with nature" bullshit.

I'm sure that movie belongs to the TV station that produced and hosted it, so it's up to them if they want to withdraw it.

However, if anyone wants a copy, I'm sure there are folks who have it on their local machines from when they downloaded it. If you send a PM to, for example, some of the folks who posted early in the thread, with your email address, I'm sure they wouldn't mind sending you a copy as long as it's just for your use.

Then perhaps I'm confusing it with a different video. Was this the one that was an exclusive piece for a local TV nightly news crew?

In that case, see what I said above.
