They think they actually caught Jon Benet Ramsey's killer: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14379566/?GT1=8404
In reply to: BOULDER, Colo. - A man suspected in the slaying of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey nearly a decade ago was arrested Wednesday in Thailand, the district attorney said. Colorado authorities scheduled a news conference Thursday to discuss the case but declined further comment. Federal officials familiar with the case, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the man was already being held in Bangkok on unrelated sex charges. CBS reported that the suspect, a 41-year-old second-grade teacher from the U.S., will be brought back to the United States this weekend.

No Way!!!!! I can't believe it!!!! This is one of those debacles that has captured my attention for years. Much like the Big Dig. When I was at school in boulder, the ramsay house was always on the tour I'd give to my out of towner friends.

This thread brought back a fond college memory: Some of you may recall the Boulder riots of '97. Basically, they started because the students thought the cops were cracking down on the partying too hard. (We would go on to be named playboy's #1 party school a couple years later.) Tensions were high. When the cops would show up and shut down a party, dragging underage students and those who resisted into the street and chucking them into a paddy wagon, they had to do so to a chant by the students: "Jon-Ben-nay, Jon-Ben-Nay!" The cops loved that one. *of course, I at no time attended these wild, frenetic bacchanalias, or condone the despicable practice of drinking alcohol.

Is it odd that I find "slaying of" less disturbing than "6-year-old beauty queen"?

after reading a few news reports, this suspect is a little suspect. I'd like to see the evidence, not just the confession i'm still thinking the mom did it!!!

Sorry- I think I'll stand behind the "this guy will say anything to get out of Thai jail- theory".

Imagine this though..... He did do it and knows if he "confesses" to a bunch of mis information he has planted seeds of doubt in his story when he goes to trial. We are talking about a pedophile here.

I have to agree with Ma here, this guy is very suspicious. His obsession with the case seems to make him want to be connected somehow. 10 years to come clean? His story doesn't seem to jive with some of what was found at the crime scene either. He's a weirdo, no doubt though. If it was him, I think it's great some peace has been put to the case for her family. But I'm not convinced at all. I think this is a ploy to create a frenzy for nothing.
