I've heard mention of some place in Charleston where someone has appoxied holds and rocks to a bridge i believe. Anyone know where that is? Or any good buildering whatsoever.

I don't know where that is as I just moved to charleston from Utah. Is there anyplace to climb indoors here? I have holds and would be interested in putting some kind of wall together. Looking to climb somehow/somewhere.

There are two other choices but JICP is the best option. The two others are indoor but only 30' high with EXTREMELY hard hours to get in. They are on the local Air Force and Navy bases in the area. I contacted one of the guys who climbs there and he said if you get in touch with him he would try to work something out to get us in there.

there is a good indoor climbing gym in Columbia. It's about an hour and a half from Charleston though. 40 ft walls and then 2 bouldering rooms.

Or you can go to Rumbling Bald in NC to boulder. It would be about a 3 hr drive for you Chas. folks. It's 2 hrs. from me.

There is also indoor bouldering at Half Moon Outfitters in West Ashley. Here is a link to their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Charleston-SC/Bouldering-Half-Moon-Outfitters/109718972099

I grew up in TN where climbing was less than 30 min away... then I moved to Charleston for the summer and worked for CCPRC and loved it but missed the mountains way to much... If you wanna climb routes then go to James Island... although its an outdoor wall it has some descent stuff on it... Half moon has good bouldering but its pretty small...

either place you go tell them Melissa and Bryan said hello!! we miss Charleston a lot!! Its really a great place to live!!
