Weather looks pretty shitty this weekend for the Southeast. I've never been to fosters. Would this place be a decent rainy weather crag? I climb in the 11 range up to easy 12s. What's the camping scene like there? Thanks.

There would be a few walls you could hop on. Ethnic cleansing i would imagine to be somewhat dry because its so overhung. Other than that Most of the walls are vertical and would be oozing pretty bad. If you want to climb in the southeast while its raining, your best bet may be the OBED because almost everything there is overhung.

I've climbed at The Obed a couple of times on rainy weekends. The walls, although overhung can be fairly damp. Although a short hike, the Stephen King Library area has a huge roof and will definitely stay dry. It offers a number of climbs in your range. Lily Bluff is another good spot if it rains. Many climbs of multiple grades there. Stop at the ranger station in Wartburg, only ten minutes from the park and they will direct you to some additional climbs in your range that will be dry. Camping is very limited. There is one campground in the park with about 10-12 sites, but it won't be hard to get a site this time of year. Another option is to camp on private property at Dell and Marty's place. I think they charge about $6 a head per night. They usually have a roaring bon fire. Dell's a great guy. Their place is almost directly across form Doc Howard Rd, just up the hill from Lily Bridge and Lily Bluff.

Both Bunkers at Fosters tend to seep. I'd recommend Little River Canyon. Several walls (Lizard wall for example) there don't get wet or seep in the heavyest downpours.

Do you have the info on how to get there? Or where to camp? What's the nearest town to the area, so I can Mapquest to get driving time? Thanks. PM me if you like or email at cmajerczyk@gmail.com
