I have never been to Kings Bluff and am considering going there for the weekend to meet my brother(I am in Atlanta, he is in LaFayette IN) because it is about half-way. - Is it worth it? It looks like there is a good variety of routes. - Is there camping there? - Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance!

I've not been to Kings Bluff either (I'm also in Atlanta), but I've heard good things about it. You might want to post the question on the Southeastern Climbers Coalition web site, you might get more specifics there: http://www.seclimbers.org/modules.php?name=Forums JL

Kings Bluff is a pretty cool place. The approach is only about 300 feet and you start directly in the middle of the routes. There is not any camping allowed. There are routes literally every 5-7 feet. They have started to put metal tags at the base of the climbs that tell you which ones they are, because its very easy to get on the wrong route. the only downside is that most of the climbs are very short...25-35 feet. they do have some longer ones, but they can be knocked out in a trip or two. i would check out dixie craggers guide. they have pretty accurately labeled the good 2 and 3 star climbs.

Drive a little further (about 2 hours) and you got Jackson Falls and drapers bluff - a little further but well worth the trip. free camping beautiful area nothing like sitting under the north falls with a cup of joe first thing in the morning or a cold beer after a good long day. Another option with there not being many places to camp in clarksville. Also drapers with its east flacing bluff tends to be 5-10 degrees warmer than the temp outside. Ive climbed there when it was 40 outside and was peeling clothes while i was climbing
