UPDATE: we have been working hard and at last count there are over 55 new routes now at Beaty Boulders and we are planning on some more work this weekend that will probably open 5 more new routes and there is potential for MANY more. Because of the VERY lengthy process of updating this on-line guide and pics it may be awhile before it gets updated completely, so the best thing to do is just get yourself out here and climb.

Why do you ask? This is an old thread plus you're SOL if you're wanting climbing in or anywhere near S.Angelo. No climbing gym and ERock is closest climbing.

You at the fire school, eh? Yeah, the climbing is just doable as a day trip. I'm headed to E-Rock tomorrow but it's three hours each way. Better to go overnight but it's also possible for the day. Austin limestone sport is four hours and I think the Wichita's in OK are about six hours from here.
