Trophy for the sheer randomness of the question. You could have, at least, allowed for multiple choices... but without specifying what the heck you are talking about (shoes? ropes? quickdraws?), how do you expect an intelligent answer?

Black Diamond - Cause Camalots are solid and have lots of range Trango - For climbers, by climbers. Good stuff. Hi, Mal! Rock Empire - Cause lots of range doesn't always do it, sometimes you just plain need lots of cams Petrenko - When it inspires confidence like that, it's gotta be a KROK Omega Pacific - Too bad they missed out on Paris Hilton (With apologies - that was too easy)

I don't choose particular brands. i choose the gear I nead, based on its quality and price. Just going by brand is a costly mistake.

BD for their cams C4 and C3. DMM for their excellent biners. Petzl for their Jumars and Shunt. Beal for their low impact force ropes. Trango for their ball nut ( don't own them yet ) Sportiva for their shoes. V. P.S. I voted for BD.

dude, I think the point of the post is to tally what brands most climbers use. this would, logically, point out the best quality gear, as climbers usually don't trust their lives to insufficient and low quality gear. I don't think anyone buys gear based on just the brand, I think they go with the stuff they know works, which, coincidentally, is usually from a select few groups of manufacturers.

DMM for having the best carabiners and nuts on the market. Black Diamond because C4s really are that good. Metolius for making stuff that's just tough tough tough and lasts forever. Evolv and Acopa for shoes that perform . Mammut and PMI for excellent, durable ropes. Misty Mountain for harnesses that can't be beat.

Camel Metolius (I still using one of their first generation rope bags) Dr. Pepper Five ten -Dewers Whiskey Old Navy (it's cheap) Blue water ropes (all I've climbed on for the last 10 years) American Apparel Wild country Gregory Packs (I've had my hot pink rock lobster for 16 years and it's still going strong) Any brand that's on the close out rack and is close to my size. (I'm not too proud)
