The smell of those types of infection would be even worse. (Geek alert: At the very end, you can hear the Star Wars music in the background.)

That reminds me of the stuff my 3rd degree burn would produce when it got infected. The stench was enough to chase the dog out of the room and my wife used to have to leave the house when I changed the bandages. Lovely reminder... thanks for posting.

He must not have insurance. I've popped a couple of those on other people during my stint... One was on this guy's hand and the PA who was seeing him(ours was on leave) just kept giving him minor doses of oral antibiotics... So i took him to another unit where i knew a PA, pissed off a bunch of people, and cut his hand open... He spent the next three days getting it packed and recieving IV antibiotics. That PA was a fuckin tool.

I'm all for self medicating and home treatment but I think I would have that thing professionally drained. That was rough.

Oh, welcome to my world of dermatology...those things stink horribly, too. I doubt it was a spider bite, more likely an infected sebaceous cyst; the drainage is the main thing, but I hope that guys tools were sterile, he was getting those tweezers right in there...

I was literally tramatized by that video. Couldn't stop watching it though, wanted to see the big splorch at the end that never materialized. Now I just wish I had never seen it.
