Start in Yosemite and then just head north by ending in Squamish. On your way stop at as many areas as you can on the way (i.e. Smith), saving at least 2 weeks for Squamish. That's what I'd do anyways. Josh

What kind of climbing are you trying to do? I'd probably just go to Rifle for the whole 6 weeks and I'd definitely try to start a little sooner, say April 19.

Where you're starting from. Exclusively driving in your own vehicle or do you have the $$$ and inclination to fly and rent? What kind of climbing - trad, sport, alpine? What level of climbing? Will you have a partner or do you have to troll? Do you want to do other things (eg: spring skiing, mtn biking, horseback riding, etc.)?

did it last summer. started in Paradise forks (last week of may) rolled to Yosemite (two weeks in june) took a week to get to Squamish (stayed with friends) two weeks in Squamish (last week of june/first week of july). you'll want to hit squamish late if you go to maximize climbing time- we had friends who bailed from Squamish to Yosemite in early june this past year because they got rained out....

So I am starting from Toronto Canada, and will be driving, hence the road trip. Skill: I climb sport up to 5.11, and will be learning how to trad from my partner on the road trip. I have little to no experience with crack climbs, only because ontario climbing is all face climbs, but would love to get on some. I figure I will be starting from the East and working my way west. Need to get multi-pitch and big wall climbing by the end of the trip.
