I have the V10's, which smell; I have no idea why, but they do and I want to know how you clean your shoes. I just put some gold bond into them it says it controls foot odor, but I tried it on my feet awhile ago and it didn't seem to help, suggestions?

Seems more like a beginners question instead of one for the gearheads, but, try this for starters. http://www.rockclimbing.com/...p;sb=score&mh=25

try putting them in the freezer. I put them in for a few hours and the smell improved significantly. Mine are in there right now cuz i'm not climbing for a few days. I've heard more time makes them smell better longer.

Once or twice a month I clean them with anti-bacterial soap and in between climbs I put them in the freezer to de-funk them. The freezer won't completely de-funk them, but it will keep them not smelling as much. After each use I also spray them with some oder eaters with baking soda to freshen them up a bit.

As they're synthetic, you might try washing them periodically. One trick of mine is to add 1 Tbsp of bleach to the machine after its full of water and it certainly seems to help with de-funkification. Only note would be to air dry, not machine.

you have to wash them. all my climbing shoes start to stink after a while, and the only way to keep it in check is to get a stif bristcle tooh brush with teh biggest head you can find, mix up a little bit of clotches washing detergent adn water, and scrub them out really well. then air dry. I have to do this a couple times a season, for my leather shoes, and more frequently for the shoes with synthetic insoles. synthetics seem worse than leather for developing stink, BTW.

Get a small spray bottle with some rubbing alchohol in it to keep with your gear. Spray the inside of the shoes in between use to kill bacteria, germs and dry the shoe more quickly. Clean synthetic shoes in cold water regularly (once a month or as needed). Clean your leather shoes less often as they will loose oils in the leather and become stiff, uncomfortable and weaker. Be sure to use a mild unscented soap as many of the addatives to soaps can make the rubber less sticky. Joe
