Jake, wasn't so bad, got up on sevearl faves. but man, I am fat, old, and out of shape. good times though. not terrifically freezing. asctually worked up a sweat at one point. there was one other person there solo toproping stuff on the prow. saw him climbing outside corner. was nice to get on some routes. jason and I are going to make that our saturday playground whenever we can from now until the summer. jeremy where's that at? Shear, that's VY kewl. I hope I can work things out so that I can make it out to florence.... kind of a haul for me though. 75+ miles. have to see what I can do.

either a weird angle of Yos or perhaps Sierras? Cool rob... i figured it wouldn't be terrible once i saw that it was into the 30's today. I'm out of shape too but in different ways.. i used to be all about the endurance stuff and do routes and routes all day but they were all moderates.. now that i've focused more on hard boulders and steep sport routes it's all power. Which i think is sweet since i can hold stuff i've never been able to before but i get tired easier. Had a good long session at the gym though. got there at 12:30.. did routes for a while.. then bouldered for a long time with my friend Booth and Sean (who just got back from a 6mo climbing road trip and is freaking raging right now.. 2 v10's at Hueco.. daayam) finished up around 6 when the hands stopped working. might go for a short ride around on the bike tomorrow.. we shall see

I'm going to get back to the weights and start some elbow PT and leg work. get my endurance up. that trip I want to take to Mnt Webstah is gonna be pretty leg intensive.

Rob you are sore, and we climbed like junk for reasons other that age and being out of shape. The real reason was that despite having coffee, we lacked FAT PILLS. Withought fat pills and joe, climbing in the sub freezing range is highly suspect. Next time there should be fat pills. Have fun w/ Pam and I'm def game for some more saturday morning outings. (I think we have found a way to beat my work schedule.) Later, Jason

I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know that I got out to climb some ice last week and we managed to snag a FA. Yes there are a few left here in the Daks if you are willing to work for them. I forgot my harness so I tied one with a hunk of static and settle with following. We put up a really nice 3+ we called Sans Défaillance. Photo attached I can't remember how to imbed it.

This could work. There is a distinct possibility that I might have a house guest that friday night. So there is a chance that she might want to come along or she might not. I've climbed with her in Acadia before, but I don't know if she's climbed since. Anyway, you ok with a 3rd?

Rob, I'm in for FUG VI, definitely. And maybe this weekend, not sure about that yet. On another note - anyone want to buy a pair of Sportiva Mythos? Size Mens 9 (Euro 42). They're in good shape. Only used in the gym. Decided they don't fit me. GO

Todd -- Good deal on the FA! Highly doubt we will find any FA possibilities at the Gunks in a "few weeks" (yeah, I'm ready). That ground has been somewhat worked over!! Don't want to wish "bad weather" upon all my ice climbing friends, but I am beyond ready for the rock season. It has been a lousy winter "climbing season" due to less than optimal weather. I have a real climbing jones going on!!! Regarding FUG, the less I know the better. Sort of along the lines of what you don't know can't hurt you!!! But what I do know is climbing and doughnuts seem to be involved. Are they combined in anyway? For instance, is there a jelly doughnut TR relay race or anything like that going on? I want to be sure to appropriately focus my training regime for the event.

Plans are in the makes for some late summer international climbing, stay tuned. Local training plans are mostly focusing on finding the intersection of two functions: (1) onsight mileage and (2) and onsight grade-pushing (the usual). AND, for those of you going to play on the much younger and softer granite, I highly recommend this route: IMO, it resembles New England climbing. It's really fun and it's a style you'll be familiar with...you know, painful cracks and superb laybacks. Great it is. Do it, fo sho. edited to add. FUG. ON.

I know we're looking at the second week of june. When are other folks thinking? Not I (sadly). Are Tiff and Josh going? What about Alison O? And of course Tim and Kevin live out there now. And does Eric E count as a MassClimber? I know he usually just pops his head in here to slap folks around when he's feeling uppity. Speaking of winks. Julia, does that wink mean you'll be hitting the Valley too? It's my favorite place to climb, so I hope I can live it vicariously through all of you. Lots of TRs, please! GO

If nominated I won't run, if elected will not serve - so on and so forth. I have my role. The Valley in June could be really nice - or it could be really hot. But even if it is hot there are other nearby options that would be good (and cooler). I'm going to Red Rock/JTree in a few weeks. Hopefully I will do something bigger in August - Valley/Sierras, or Tetons, or Banff/Lake Louise or...
