a big thanks to Sterling...

...and the other company execs/reps who use this site to interact directly with their customers. (I'm thinking Malcolm of Trango and Michael of OP, in particular.)

I was in the market for a second rope recently. Loved my Bluewater Accelerator. However, I was really impressed by the community-supportive, stand-up posts on rc.com by Sterling Jim and Sonja. So I bought a Sterling Marathon (sport, Dry). Rope just came, and it feels great.

I'm one of those people who likes to tell lots of people about positive experiences with products/companies. (See maven, Tipping Point). The time and energy that Jim, Malcolm, and others spend on this site produces huge dividends in goodwill... at least for me. And I'm happy to spread the word.

I'm not a trad climber, but if I start buying cams I'll look into Trango's and OP's stuff, simply because of the positive stuff I've seen from the execs here.

If a Bluewater rep/exec were to contribute regularly here, I might have purchased another Accelerator. (I do love the rope.) But this time it was a Sterling.

So again, thanks to the company execs who contribute positively to the discussions here. I will continue to let people know about your products.

Dan

It's good you are pointing this out, not all companies have as good PR.

Sterling is definitely one of the tops as far as participation on internet forums.

At the last OR show, one of the things I heard alot about from different manufacturers was how they were starting to spend more time on sites like RC.com so that they could be aware of any serious issues regarding their company as soon as they happened.

i'll also say that folks who go out of their way to communicate with their customers (on whatever level) are almost always going to get my business before the other guys....

Sterling is a quality company. I don't know Jim, but I do know Sonya personally and she is a good soul. Plus they do more for women climbers then any company I can think of.

Aw shucks, Blush it's my pleasure to help out! I know that Jim enjoys sharing his expertise as well. Dan and everyone, thank you so much for taking the time to say let us know our efforts are appreciated.

Josh, thanks for the kind words - you and Tiff have helped me out tremendously and I can't thank you both enough!

This was also one of the reasons I bought a Sterling recently. I am very happy with it thus far!

Hey, a question for you guys at sterling. In one of my climbing mags, there is a "jim" climbing in the Sterling ropes ad, is sterling Jim the same guy?

Yes - that is "Sterling" Jim in one of our ads. It helps to have an actual climber making the ropes Smile

Definitely!
It's very encouraging and nice to see that companies are involved in the community.

I wonder if those are a pair of BlueWater Ice Floss 8.1's he's using?

I'll second the motion. Sterling ropes ROCK! My partners and I are very hard on ropes, we go through at least one or two a season, and my Sterling ropes have more than stood the test of time.

Soyna and company have great products.

I've owned ALOT of ropes over the years, I now only use Sterling ropes. You can add me to the list of satisfied and loyal customers!!!!

Thanks gang!
