I'm getting started working on the new edition of the guidebook. The first book went to press when the area was still somewhat new and not that popular.

Now that the Riverside Quarry is one of the more popular sport climbing areas in SoCal, I'd like to get some feedback on the ratings so that this next edition will be as accurate as possible.

Feel free to email comments directly to me at socalbolter@cox.net or post them here (or both). I'm looking for feedback on difficulty ratings and also quality ratings (5-star scale).

Also, if you have found any mistakes in the current book, I'd appreciate a heads up.

Thanks much,

- Louie

That one's 10a in the book, but will likely be 5.9 in the revision.

Any others?

sounds good-its an awkward first move onto mantle #1

Thats all I really disagree with right now. Im only 17 but love climbing there with my brother 2-3 times a month. Thanks for all the effort to keep it open (ive read past access threads) and all the work on the new guide!

Leviathan and Raging Raptors: I think you have them both at 12a. Leviathan doesn't seem 5.12 to me, more like 11d, not much harder than, say, Labyrinth at Williamson. On the other hand, I've heard a lot of climbers with a lot of depth claim that Raging Raptors isn't 5.12. I don't know, it felt 12a to me, with 2 cruxes, the second, at the top felt like an actual 5.12 sequence. Thank god you you can rest before it.

Thanks Jay.

We have Leviathan at 11d for the next book.

Raging Raptor (at this point anyway) will still be 12a.
