I'm working in Houston for a couple of months, and I thought about taking a trip to E Rock. I guess that's the closest multipitch trad destination. I think it's about 4 hours or so. Does anybody have any recommendations for routes? I'm looking for multipitch trad up to a low 5.10. It sounds like some routes might be crowded on the weekends. Are there enough people on the weekends that I could solicit a partner?

Multi-pitch at E-Rock isn't much to speak of and virtually all of it is super easy. I'm sure there's one or two others besides this list, but the only multi-pitch routes I can think of are <= 5.6. Easier Than it looks Christine's Variation Cave Crack You'll have the most fun at E-Rock doing long single pitch slab routes or cracks. Most of the bolted routes were bolted back in the day on lead - you can't really consider them sport. Good single pitch climbs (bolted, mixed, and trad): Stranger than Friction (must do) Any of the triple cracks, esp Owl Crack (must do) Grass Crack Any of the Prok climbs Fear of Flying (must do) Texas Crude (still on my to-do list but looks rad) Little Feat (short but challenging handcrack)

Read this thread: http://www.erockonline.com/...x.php?showtopic=1569 Erock is 5 to 5.5 hours from H-town, depending on which way you go and where you hit the traffic/construction. Weekends are very busy, especially on the most popular areas like Motorboat, Triple Cracks, and the backside. Make sure you hit Cooper's BBQ in Llano, about 30 minutes north or Erock. PM me if you want more info or start reading through all the goodness at ErcokOnline.com.
