Well, we tried to go to Flagstone today...oops! About 4 miles from the pullout, we ran into several down trees (not so much of a problem) and up to ~3 feet of snow (a much bigger issue) on the road. Just thought I would share, in case somebody else was planning on heading out there.
Anybody have a guess as to when Flagstone will be climbable this Spring?

I haven't been up there recently, but I really doubt that Flagstone is dry yet.

Wrong.
Flagstone dries out long before the snow is gone. If you push a trail up through the snow, you'll find the rock nice and dry, although you might need to hack a belay stance into the snow at the bottom. Once you've got the trail pushed in (it takes a few people), then it's easy to walk the next weekend or so.
Bring a sharp axe or a chainsaw for the trees. I just had to chop a bunch to get to Youtlkut pillars last weekend, but it was worth it.

Oh, and I should add that whoever gets snow-trail duty is going to be pooped by the time they get up to the rock. How pooped will depend on how tough you are!

The snow wasn't too bad. Had to hike in about a mile and a half because of snow on the road (if you have high ground clearance you can chop about a mile off of that), but the rock was great and we had it all to ourselves.

Glad that you were able to climb and had such a good day, Miles.
I heard that some climbers from Eugene tried to drive up to Flagstone recently, only to get their Eurovan stuck in the snow and spend the entire day trying to get it unstuck. You weren't out there at the same time, were you?

No I didn't see anyone at all, but I can definitely understand how a gung ho driver could try to make it through one of the patches of snow and get plenty stuck. The snow was patchy, so you would think "if we get past this 100 feet of snow we don't have to hike a half a mile", cause the road is mostly clear with these patchy drifts of snow. If you have high ground clearance you can use the tracks in the snow from trucks that have been through, but my Volvo rides way too low to try, so I hiked in from the first real patch of snow.

Flagstone is clear of snow all the way up and people are coming. (I was back again today)

Cool. I figured it would be quite accessible in my 4WD, if not completely clear by now. I'm in Squamish for the next two weeks, but hope to make it out there once I return. Thanks again for all the beta.

I thought some of you guys might want a yearly update on this. I drove up yesterday and was unable to get there. I was able to get slightly past side road 340, probably still about 2 miles left. Lots of deep corn snow still on the road.
