Hi guys - I was in Munich yesterday, and as I was in the area decided to stop by the climbing shop in Kaputziner platz.... which isn't there any more. The shop space looked like a renovation site. There wasn't even a sign on the window saying that they had closed or moved on or whatever. I'M sorry, I can't even remember the name of the shop. Does anyone know if they have moved? or closed down? (that would suck). EDIT to fix typos

Hi fatoomchk, the shop you were looking for is called "Kletter- und Hochtourenecke". It relocated quite frequently in the past, but always within Munich. Since August this year it has moved south-west of Munich, to a small town called Peissenberg. Another shop to be recommended while in Munich with knowledgeable staff would be "Basecamp", Gaißacher Str. 18, 81371 München, +49-(0)89-764759, www.basecamp.de. Check it out! Andi

Hi! other good stores are 1) rumrich: http://www.mux.de/10437 it has really good deals 2) or just Sport Schuster at Marienplatz this one has the best variety of products don't go to Sport Scheck = too expensive in my opinion.

Thanks Caro - I have bought a bunch of stuff from Rumrich stone project. nice guys in the shop too, with good advice. Unfortunately I find that you need to be very lucky for them to have the product you want in sock. they never seem to have my size in anything! Yes, I know about schuster too (I get the catalogue!). lots of gear, but I prefer to support the small shops if I can. thanks for the ideas!
