First off, Disclaimer!: I HAVE SEARCHED- there is one review on this website and not many more across the web. Just looking to see if anyone has any experience on the new Optimus Prime by Evolv (Sharma collection). I'm looking at getting a new pair of sport shoes and while these felt great I'm not sure how I feel about the toe design.

i talked with sharma and evolv about the shoe a couple of weeks back at the OR show....basically, its a steep edging shoe- at least thats what it was designed for. if you climb on pockets, you'd do better with something with a more asym toe for sure.

The Optimus Prime is a pretty solid shoe. The design is a little funky and not great for pockets. It kicks ass on steep sport climbs.

got a pair of primes about 2 weeks ago love them so far only thing is toe box can be a bit uncomfortable.(my street shoe is 10.5 my primes are 10) not much need for downsizing imo. Just my 2 cents

I was in the same situation a few weeks ago looking for new sport shoes since my red chili corona vcrs wore out. I did a lot of reading on the optimus primes but felt a bit sketchy with some of the comments on the toes and rubber so I continued to hunt. I ended up finding the La Sportiva Miura VS shoes for sale (20% off) on another website and since this put them in the same price range I ended up getting them. Being completely satisfied is an understatement, these shoes are insane. You should take a look at them if you're not sold on the evolvs! Peace.

i picked up a pair of the o. primes. they were super stiff at first (as are a lot of new shoes) but after a few easy pitches I was bouncing my weight on matchstick holds. different strokes for different folks i guess. i wear a street 10.5 and got a 10 as well, they are tight but not unbearable.

Ahh yes. I'm glad they worked out well for you. Sorry about the post I didn't see the original post date and assumed it was more recent.

No need to size down in the future. Evolv recommends sizing a half to full size higher than regular evolv shoes.
