If you don't have the equipment to lead, you may not have the equipment to set up a bomber anchors at the top. You don't always have trees/rocks to sling and need cams/nuts/hexes etc.

Also, Moore's is very difficult to explain how to get to the top of most climbs that are normally lead from the ground up.

Best bet as other have said/offered is to check the place out with someone who has experience in the area.

Suggesting Ship Rock is a very bad idea not only because of the danger of falling trying to access rap stations (which is a problem anywhere) but because access around the top of Ship Rock needs to be strictly limited to those topping out routes and accessing rap stations

Thanks for the correction. I have obviously never accessed the routes at Shiprock from the top, just heard the tourists up top while climbing. It was a bad assumption on my part.
